Wizz Air is offering an “All You Can Fly” scheme for under £500 until this Friday 16 August.

However, as with all things that seem too good to be true, it is worth reading the small print before committing to the programme.

Here is everything you need to know about the scheme, its catches, and if any other airlines offer similar deals.

What is the Wizz Air ‘All You Can Fly’ scheme?

The usual annual price of the scheme is £511 but if you act before Friday, you can bag the deal for £445 and book last-minute seats on flights up to three days before departure.

The flight subscription service covers the company’s entire international network of 950 routes across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

However, the catch is that members will still have to pay a £9 booking fee with each flight. And with many Wizz Air flights coming in well below the £25 mark as it stands, it may be worth considering if you will fly enough to make this worthwhile.

But, unlike with many budget airlines, you will not be caught out with baggage, as the deal allows for one personal item with additional luggage options available at the point of booking.

The new subscription will launch on 25 September and those interested should act fast as it is exclusive, with just 10,000 memberships available.

If however, you feel you have acted too fast, you have two weeks to backtrack, before you are locked into the subscription for a year.

Its website said: “Once you have successfully paid for Wizz All You Can Fly, you can start booking your flights right away.

“Keep in mind that Wizz Air has a special introductory period where customers can purchase the membership on an introductory fee, and the booking process begins in September.”

Wizz Air also provides country-specific subscriptions through its Multi Pass programme, covering destinations like Cyprus, the UK, the United Arab Emirates, and Italy, from £30 to £55.

Wizz Air’s spokesperson Silvia Mosquera said: “We are thrilled to be the first to introduce this one-of-a-kind membership for travellers in Europe.”

Do other airlines have similar schemes?

For now, the scheme is as Wizz Air described it, “One of a kind”. There are not any other European airlines offering this sort of deal.

In the US, Frontier Airlines launched a subscription service this year with its “all you can fly” annual pass for less than £500. It also offered a summer pass for £317 and a monthly pass from £118.

Although British Airways and easyJet have loyalty programmes, they do not currently offer something like the Wizz Air pass.

With easyJet Plus, for an annual fee you can benefit from their dedicated easyJet Plus bag drop, speedy boarding, inclusive allocated seating and fast track .

Ryanair does not offer a loyalty scheme, with its CEO saying: “If you want loyalty, get a dog.”
