This year’s Davis Cup is likely to be an emotional event as Spain’s Rafael Nadal bids farewell to tennis.
The 22-time Grand Slam winner and Olympic gold medallist will be in the Spanish team and hoping to secure his fifth win for his country, at the event in Malaga, Spain, as a parting shot before retirement at the age of 38.
The Davis Cup, also referred to as the men’s world cup of tennis, is the biggest team competition in the sport involving national teams.
Run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), it takes places every year with the final rounds played in November. This year they run from Tuesday 19 November to Sunday 24 November.

Davis Cup finals 2024 schedule
The quarter finals of the Davis Cup will be held from 19-21 November, the semi-finals from 22- 23 November and the final on Sunday 24 November at Malaga’s Palacio de Deportes José María Martín Carpena.
