AbstractAbstract
[en] A simple and compact TEA nitrogen laser suitable for interferometric measurements on the plasma focus has been realised. Homogeneous beam quality having output energy of about 300 μJ and 1 ns pulse duration is easily obtained. This laser can also be used for Schlieren and shadow photography. (author). 10 refs, 6 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The radial distribution of the electron temperature in a hydrogen plasma generated in a thetatron device is determined by using the line intensity ratio, which has been measured through Abel invertion and a simple computer program. The mean electron temperature is found to be around 10 eV., for Hβ, while it is less for Hγ. The obtained profile of the electron temperature is in coincidence with our previous results. [en] Plasma Focus Fusion Facility of BATAN that was designed before has been constructed. This facility is based on UNU/ICTP PFF which has been tested successfully at Plasma Physics Lab. University of Malaya, Malaysia. Two capacitors 14 microfarad 20 kV each are connected in parallel and each of them is switched by a swinging cascade air spark-gap triggered simultaneously. The result of several tests shows that the focussing mechanism is obtained at 12.5 kV charging voltage at 0.8 mbar argon pressure. (author). 3 refs, 3 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] A low cost exploding wire experiment is described and several aspects of the phenomenology in this type of plasmas are researched. Plasma photographies with high time resolution are obtained with a non-expensive Kerr cell switching system. The research is centered in the study of the dark pause phenomenon and the experimental results are interpreted using a very simple model. (author). 3 refs, 12 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the presence of alternating axial and spatial non-uniform azimuthal components of the magnetic field, we have derived the trajectory and velocity of a single charged particle. The sinusoidal variation of the axial field results in radial drift of electrons and positive ions, which, however, oscillates in synchronism with the field. The result is in agreement with the experimental data. (author). 12 refs, 1 fig

AbstractAbstract
[en] A small Mather-type Plasma Focus facility operated by a single 32 μF, 15 KV (3.6 KJ) capacitor has been designed and fabricated. Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) based trigger circuit was used to switch the swinging cascade spark gap. Special attention was given to reduce the external inductance of the circuit. Preliminary measurements with Argon have shown that the device operate reproducibly and reliably. The fabrication of a bigger 16 KJ Plasma Focus with necessary diagnostic facilities is underway. AbstractAbstract
[en] Plasma transport is one of the basic topics in the research of confined fusion plasma physics. Fusion plasma parameters such as electron temperature, plasma density, and the energy confinement time, are seriously limited by anomalous transport. It is of great interest to compare measured and theoretically predicted transport properties. A direct measurement on electron thermal conductivity through the use of internal disruption on our CT-6B tokamak device is discussed here. 8 figs

During the experiment the pressure in the duoplasmatron gap (Pg), the arc current (Iarc =51/2 A) and the magnetic field intensity (3200 gauss on the axis, 500-300 gauss. 1 m and 2 mm from the arc axis) were kept constant.
