[en] The plants cultivation in controlled containments permits to the - Departement d'Ecophysiologie Vegetale et de Microbiologie (DVEM) - of the CEA to lead several topics of research. The works of DVEM which are based on the molecular labelling, technique adapted to plants, contribute to understand the plant - soil relationships and the plant growth process. In addition, the staff of DVEM study the impact of pollutant heavy metals, existing in the soil, on plants and the plant stress induced by oxygen, light, ionizing radiations,... and defence mechanisms of plants (F. M.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The last developments in medical imaging allow visualization of medicines in organism. Today, these techniques: positron emission tomography (PET) and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) play an essential role in the production and the development of new medicines. The medicinal substances labelled with radioisotopes permit to improve the understanding of medicines' action mode. The spectacular advances were observed in the field of medicines acting on the brain (F.M.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The biopuces of DNA analysis is an ambitious project. In ten years, the biopuces will be the main tools for medicine, especially in diagnosis. The DNA hybridization consists to combine DNA sequences of a sample with specific synthesized complementary DNA sequences, called DNA probes, which are easily detectable. It permits to have information about the presence of the selected DNA sequence in the Sample. On a biopuce, this operation is achieved by grafting the corresponding probes to a common support (F.M.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] After their prescription, medicines are taken and reach the blood circulation more or less quickly depending on their physico-chemical characteristics, on the excipients etc... and then, diffuse to tissues before reaching their target. The interaction of medicines and their target is followed with a cascade of biochemical mechanisms which lead to the tissue response. From this response the therapeutic effect of these medicines is known. So we can understand that the effect of medicines is not constant, it depends on the time run out from their taking. To describe this voyage of medicines in the human body is essential for increasing the efficiency of medicines and developing new ones. The isotopes have contributed and still contribute to this description of medicines development in the human organism.(F.M.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In nuclear medicine, the prescriptions of isotopic investigations are increasing because they can provide early information about morphological anomalies and permit,so to avoid long and onerous treatments. Until now, Morocco imports the radiopharmaceuticals in spite of the difficulties related to administrative procedures. To facilitate these procedures CNESTEN has launched a project which involves the following activities: - Import and distribution of needed radiopharmaceuticals; - development and production of new radiopharmaceutical kits in cooperation with scientific partners. Priority is given to the most prescribed radiopharmaceuticals. Many kits have been produced with manufacturing protocol modifications aiming to improve and optimize the production processes. The quality of the obtained products is tested and their biodistribution kinetics are studied. (F.M.)
