AbstractAbstract
[en] The GANIL facility consists of three successive cyclotrons. The tuning of these cyclotrons and of the transfer beam lines is achieved in about 24 hours. Reducing this setting time would enable to increase the time allocated to physics experiments. New tools are realized for automatic beam tuning. These tools are expected to make the tuning easier, shorter and more reproducible. (authors)

[en] An injector of separated ions based on the use of the PIG ion source is developed of the Institute of Nuclear Research (Kiev). The efficiency of the beam transport is increased by the radial focusing of the beam in the field of the source magnet and axial focusing at the output boundary formed by a magnetic screen. (authors)

[en] In Bratislava there is a quite elaborated project of the construction of Cyclotron Laboratory for purposes of medicine and physics. Slovak government by the end of this year will make the final decision about the definitive size of this project, which is supposed to be finished in 2003. This article presents the project. AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of calculations of the accelerating beam dynamics in the central region of the U-400 cyclotron are presented. The calculations have been done for several configurations of the accelerating structure with an axial injection system and an ECR ion source. The calculations showed that the optimal location of the elements of the accelerating structure can allow the intensity of ion beams with A/Z = 5±10 to be increased by a factor of 2±1.5. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The JAERI AVF cyclotron has been used for experiments since January 1992. The total operation time amounted to 20,000 hours in April 1998. We have delivered thirty-three kinds of ion beams and cocktail beams ranging from proton to xenon with energies of 10-520 MeV. This paper reports status on performance and operation of the cyclotron and recent development. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Since the installation of an ECR Heavy Ion Source in 1993 the acceleration of lighter heavy ions has become an important part of the operation of the PSI Philips Cyclotron. The production of these beams under the specific conditions set by the experimental program is discussed. Their use in various fields of research is presented. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A compact target changer assembly was designed and fabricated to remotely position four different targets horizontally on the external beam line. The system design may be useful at other facilities that wish to modify the cyclotron facilities for the production of PET radiopharmaceuticals. The assembly was fabricated on-site using 70 hours of machine shop time and a cost of <$1000 for the components. (authors)
