AbstractAbstract
[en] Food irradiation process has been studied and researched during 40 years, therefore it has been demonstrated its technical and economical feasibility, the advantages of this technology have been given to know to the consumers through educative campaigns. The marketing tests done in different countries mark the beginning of the trade because the consumers preferred irradiated food due to its quality and the increase of shelf life. This fact marks the incorporation of the irradiation techniques into the food industry. (Author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The presence in the means of deleterious factors that for they are considered it environmental pollutants, it can be detected using biological monitors that have the specific capacity to respond to the action of certain elements. The principle on that the employment of these organisms is based is the presence in its genome of hereditary information that makes them manifest answers in very characteristic and evident form for the investigator. Organisms exist with this so much type of properties among the vegetables as among the animals and from the unicellular until the pluricellular, including the man. (Author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The ecological and toxicological effects in the environment are mainly governed by concentrations of different chemical element constituents dispersed as aerosols in the atmosphere so, their analysis is very important. Analysis of the aerosols samples collected with a cascade impactor or a filter unit was simplified by using ion beam analytical techniques. Data collected routinely at regular intervals throughout the year and during special seasonal periods is the supporting statistical material by which the behavior of the elements concentrations can be observed. The PIXE technique was used in these studies for analysing samples collected in the spring of 1988 and others taken once weekly in the same year. Here the results are presented and discussed. AbstractAbstract
[en] Since beginning of times, human beings need to live in the company of other humans, beings developing what we now know as human societies. According to this idea there has been speculation, specially in the present century, about the possibility that human society has company of the other thinking creatures living in other planets somewhere in our galaxy. In this talk we will only use reliable data from scientific observers in order to establish a probability. We will explain the analysis on the physico-chemical principles which allow the evolution of organic molecules in our planet and establish these as the forerunners of life in our planet. On the other hand, the physical process governing stars, their characteristics and their effects on planets will also be explained as well as the amount of energy that a planet receives, its mass, atmosphere and kind of orbit. Finally, considering all this information, a probability of life from outer space will be given. (Author)

[en] In this talk we present a short review of the methodology followed from the applications of small accelerator nuclear techniques in supporting interdisciplinary research and in giving solution to multiple industrial demands. Specifically, we present the potentiality of these methods through the use of nuclear reactions in sample characterization and, besides, in a brief discussion, through the analysis derived from the production of characteristic X-rays induced with charged particles; an illustrative example is presented in each case. AbstractAbstract
[en] It is presented a technical feasibility study of the potential utilization of EB flue gas process in a Mexican industry where heavy-oil, high-sulphur is used as fuel. It was found that thermo electrical power utilities are the main users of this fuel, but, in general there are no installed any removal emissions equipment and the problem is very complicated, because around 40% of the total electrical power in Mexico. This situation would be to these plants, the main potential user of that process. lt is presented a calculation of technical parameters of an EB process for a 300 M We power utility. (Author)

[en] Water, the most important and indispensable resource for life support is threatened. The whole world is worried about that, so, it is now learning, that there are limits to egregious waste, and is leading too his research and technical efforts to preserve the resource. This work suggest, as a part of these complementary efforts, the use of nuclear techniques: PIXE and X RF, adjusting to easier and faster analytical tools, for heavy metals content in water determinations, such techniques have a wide spread over safe water quality control. AbstractAbstract
[en] The ionizing radiations have numerous applications in biology, medicine, and its get paid every time bigger importance in biochemistry and cellular physiology, molecular biology. The biological effects of the radiations are the responsible of a series of transformations in the alive matter that carry out to a pathology or particular transformation whose importance grows with the increment of the use in medicine, industry, agriculture, of the radiations. The convergence of areas like the physics, biology in these fields conforms the science of the Biophysics and in this case the Radiobiology whose study object is: study of the physicochemical, biochemical and biological effects of the radiations as well as their relationships at alive beings level. Studies that explain as the matter of the alive beings try to vanish or to come undone of an energy surplus that as ionizing radiation receives it from the exterior. Development of radiobiological technology for the solution of technical problems, industrial of health, agriculture, investigation and development. The bases of the biological effects of radiations starting from the fundamental action of the radiation with the matter are presented. (Author)
