AbstractAbstract
[en] The deshunting sequences of magnetic heads are found that cause the ESD effect according to the charged device model. The new deshunting sequence proposed here can obviously prevent the degradation of magnetic heads. This is proven by using both simulation and experiment

AbstractAbstract
[en] A cryogenic current comparator resistance bridge has been developed to measure the resistance ratios of 1, 10, 100 and 6453.2Ω against 1Ω. The authors show that the precision of the 1-Ω comparison is better than 0.01 ppm. This is attained by using an improved feedback system in the secondary current source

AbstractAbstract
[en] A method is described by which a relocatable version of Mercury Autocode was prepared. A special input scheme (PIG 3) was developed which would accept the information in the Autocode Compiler in symbolic form, and allow the insertion therein of preset modifiers. The method could be applied to relocate other large Mercury programmes in drum storage. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A new design is presented to improve the magnetic recording density in all-optical magnetic storage. By using the high numerical lens with a high-pass angular spectrum filter, circularly polarized laser pulses are focused into the magneto-optic film with the perpendicular anisotropy. Magnetization of the film is induced by the inverse Faraday effect. As the obstructed angle of the filter increases the magnetic recording density increases evidently. The magnetization intensity and the sidelobe effect are also discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Novel simulation model for perpendicular recording is developed. The Preisach model merged with the micromagnetic model is used to simulate the perpendicular media. Moreover, a simple method to calculate the MR sensitivity function is also provided. Simulation results of the model are well agreed with experimental measurements. Precise modeling method and recording mechanism of the perpendicular recording with a ring head writing is discussed in detail

AbstractAbstract
[en] Modern high energy physics experiments are very dependent on the use of computers and present a fairly well defined list of technical demands on them. It is therefore possible to look at the construction of a computer operating system and to see how the design choices should be made in order to make the systems as useful as possible to physics experiments or, more practically, to look at existing operating systems to see which can most easily be used to do the jobs of rapid data acquisition and checking. In these notes, operating systems are looked at from the point of view of the informed user. Emphasis is placed on systems which are intended for single processor microcomputers of the type frequently used for data acquisition applications. The principles described are, of course, equally valid for other kinds of system. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Main points approached are recent developments in magnetic memories (tapes and disks) and optical memories (holographic and electron beam access); a detailed study is made on new technologies such as charge coupled devices (CCD) and magnetic bubbles memories. A comparison between these different systems is made, as well as forecasting trends of evolution
