AbstractAbstract
[en] Principles of laterally dispersive and time-of-flight mass separators are outlined. Special emphasis is given to separators for very energetic recoils for which electrostatic fields would be technologically impossible. The principle of energy isochronous time-of-flight mass separators is shown to be applicable to storage rings. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The description is given of a transit time mass spectrometer comprising an analyser chamber in which a pulse ion source, an ion detector and an ion reflexion system are placed along the same optical axis of the ions. The ion detector and the ion reflexion system are located on two opposite sides in relation to the pulse ion source, the latter being a source of which all the electrodes are transparent to the ions

AbstractAbstract
[en] This article discusses the possibilities of using the BactoSCREEN mass spectrometer to determine the resistance of microorganisms in phytopathology. Examples and possibilities of using this mass spectrometer are considered. The scientific novelty of the work lies in considering the possibility of using the BastoSCREEN time-of-flight mass spectrometer in resistanceology, identifying the main features of this device- the speed of operation and the possibility of updating the database, as well as economic efficiency. As a result, this device is seen as a good alternative to traditional research methods. (paper)

[en] In this paper electronic circuits are described for the time measuring channel of a mass spectrometer designed for space applications. In this context the principal aspects of space electronics are described, such as low power consumption, low weight and low volume as well as high reliability. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A miniature leaser mass spectrometer, called LASMA, was built around the concept of the first space-born laser time-of-flight mass-spectrometer, the core analyser of LIMA-D complex (Laser Ion Mass Analyser - Distant), developed for the space mission PHOBOS. The new device is a close analogue of its predecessor, but its size and mass are by an order of magnitude lower. In concern to space research, the analyser is suitable for in-situ investigation of the elemental and isotopic composition of the regolith of small bodies and cometary nuclei. The earth-based modification of the instrument is convenient for environmental applications and is capable to perform an express analysis of samples of soil, water and plant origin. The paper presents moments of its instrumental design and estimation of the analytical characteristics. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The linear time-of-flight mass spectrometer is simple with a high sensitivity but mass resolution is limited to 1000-1500, the addition of a two steps electrostatic mirror, very compact, allows an increase in mass resolution up to 10,000 and the analysis of metastable ions without increasing too much the size of equipment. For the future, especially for mass spectrometers using matrix assisted laser desorption of ions, it should be used systems where all the grids which can interact with secondary ion beams, are suppressed. The accelerating space and the electrostatic mirror should be defined for beam focusing with lenses. Studies are still in progress for the detection of very large molecular ions

AbstractAbstract
[en] Compared to the traditional ion acceleration up to the same energy, constant momentum acceleration increases twice the mass dispersion coefficient of the time-of-flight analyzers. Homogeneous single field ion sources operated in constant momentum regime can be combined with two stage electrostatic mirrors to ensure velocity focusing in time. An ion source having the geometry of quadrupole ion trap can be combined with a drift space of appropriate length to reach perfect velocity focusing in time. In both cases the main aberrations and resolution formulas were derived. For specific geometries the resolutions were estimated
