AbstractAbstract
[en] Several novel organoperoxo complexes of Nb(V), Ta(V) and Sb(V) have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes have the compositions [M(O2)2L Cl] and [M(O2)2L'] [L = monodentate and bidentate, neutral ligand; L' = bidentate, uninegative ligand]. These complexes are very reactive to both organic and inorganic substrates. Niobium and tantalum complexes were found to oxidize phosphines and arsines to their oxides. These also oxidize olefins to epoxides under stoichiometric conditions while under catalytic conditions, ring opening of the epoxides occur producing α-hydroxyketone when the substrate is trans-stilbene. The antimony complexes are decidedly inert towards oxidation. (author)

[en] The structure of CsSbF4 crystal was determined on the basis of diffractometric data: a=9.566(4), b=15.804(6), c=6.360(3) A, d(meas)=4.55, d(calc)=4.57 g/cm3, μ(MoKsub(α))=131.06 cm-1, z=8, f. gr. Pbam. There are two . crystallographically independent antimony atoms with SbEF5 octahedrons (Sb-F 1.91-2.29 A) as coordination polyhedrons in the structure. [en] The crystal structure of CsSbClF3 relating to tetragonal syngony has been determined: a=9.94(2), c=11.61(2)A, Z=8, spatial group I anti4 2m. The structure of CsSbClF3 is built from four-nuclear anionic complexes [Sb4Cl4F12]4- grouped in layers parallel to the xy plane and from cations Cs+. The complexes [Sb4Cl4F12]4- are formed from four polyhedrons of antimony connected with one another by the bridge chlorine atoms. Taking into account an unshared s-electron pair of the antimony atom, the coordination polyhedron in the structure of CsSbClF3 can be described as a deformed octahedron of SbCl2F3E with a free electron pair in an axial vertex

[en] Triarylantimony Ar3Sb (Ar = 4-FC6H4, 3-MeC6H4) is oxidized by hydrogen peroxide to form tetranuclear complexes [(4-FC6H4)2SbO]4(O2)2 and [(3-MeC6H4)2SbO]4(O2)2 (as a DMSO solvate). The structure of the resulting compounds was examined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
