AbstractAbstract
[en] Alpha decay is a fundamental decay mode of radioactive nuclei from which we can analyze the nuclear structural properties like ground state energy, half-life, nuclear clustering, shell effects, deformation of the nucleus, nuclear interaction, spin and parity, etc. Alpha decay often takes place in heavy, superheavy, and neutron-deficient nuclei with a relatively high protons-to-neutron ratio. The Modified Generalized Liquid Drop Model (MGLDM) developed by Santhosh et al. is an improved version of GLDM and the model could explain cluster decay, α-decay, and 2α-decay in heavy and superheavy regions. In this work, we are studying the possibility of alpha emissions from the ground and isomeric states of 191-202At isotopes using MGLDM

AbstractAbstract
[en] The gas-filled recoil separator ritu has been used to study neutron-deficient nuclei above the N=82 neutron shell closure and beyond the proton drip line. New information about the proton emitting nuclei in Ir, Au and Tl isotopes was obtained including the identification of two new proton emitters. The systematics of low-lying states in odd-mass At isotopes beyond the proton drip line were studied down to 191At using alpha-decay. A new low-lying state associated with an oblate π(2p - 1h) configuration was also observed in the corresponding Bi daughter nuclei. In order to realise these studies at the extreme limit of experimental devices, several technical developments at the ritu separator were required

AbstractAbstract
[en] Detailed α-decay studies of the neutron-deficient isotope 194At have been performed in the complete fusion reaction 56Fe+141Pr→194At+3n at the velocity filter SHIP. Two α-decaying isomeric states with half-lives of T1/2(194Atm1)=310(8) ms and T1/2(194Atm2)=253(10) ms were identified in this nucleus. Their complex decays to the states in the daughter nucleus 190Bi are discussed in the article. We propose that similar to the case of the neighboring 191,192,193,195At isotopes, the oblate-deformed configurations based on the proton 1/2+[440] and/or 7/2-[514] Nilsson orbitals become important in 194At. A new isomeric state with the half-life of 175(8) ns was observed in 190Bi.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The present revision of the nuclear structure properties for the nuclides belonging to the A = 191 mass chain contains many improvements, corrections and additions to the material presented in previous evaluations (1995Br38, Nucl. Data Sheets 74, 611 (1995)). Besides updating many values, and including supplementary data for already known levels, transitions and level schemes, the most noteworthy modifications with respect to the prior evaluation are the first significant level schemes for 191Pb, 191Bi, and 191Po, showing many levels and transitions, mostly derived from (HI,xnγ) work. The first reports for 191At and 191W and the observation of linking transitions from superdeformed levels to normal deformed levels in 191Hg were also included. Most of decay data sets contain many discrepant data; in some cases, normalization is tentative

AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text: A = 193 evaluation, in collaboration with the Sao Paulo group, was submitted to BNL in April 2004. Datasets for the nuclides 193Hg to 193At have recently been revised taking into account the suggestions of the reviewer. The mass chain was resent on 13 April 2005 to the NNDC for further processing. A = 191 evaluation: data for the nuclides 191Hg to 191At have been evaluated, and the respective datasets have been prepared. A final review is currently being performed. Expected that the ENSDF files for this part of the A = 191 mass chain will be sent for review to the NNDC within the next two weeks. (author)
