AbstractAbstract
[en] We employ dimension-4 operators to improve the local vector and axial-vector currents and calculate the nucleon isovector axial coupling with overlap valence on 2 + 1-flavor domain wall fermion (DWF) sea. Using the equality of from the spatial and temporal components of the axial-vector current as a normalization condition, we find that is increased by a few percent towards the experimental value. Here, the excited-state contamination has been taken into account with three time separations between the source and sink. The improved axial charges (24I) = 1.22 (4) (3) and (32I) = 1.21 (3)(3) are obtained on a 243 × 64 lattice at pion mass of 330 MeV and a 323 × 64 lattice at pion mass 300 MeV and are increased by 3.4% and 1.7% from their unimproved values, respectively. We have also used clover fermions on the same DWF configurations and find the same behavior for the local axial charge as that with overlap fermions.

AbstractAbstract
[en] We show how to avoid the known difficulties of computing one-loop counterterms in gravitating systems with fermionic fields or some non-minimal interactions. The one-loop counterterms and the axial anomaly are calculated for the system of coupled gravitational and Majorana spin-1/2 fields with and without torsion. It is shown that the system is non-renormalizable in all cases. New terms containing the spinor background are found in the anomaly of the axial current. The dependence of the axial current and the axial anomaly on the gauge is studied. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The compatibility of the Adler-Bardeen theorem with the supermultiplet containing the axial, trace, and supercurrent anomalies in N=1 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory is re-examined (in component form). It is argued that consideration of the off-shell form of the supermultiplet removes the apparent paradox, at least at the two-loop level. (orig.)

[en] A new approach to the problem of the charge effects in nuclear physics seen as the consequences of the axial polarization effects in the nucleus is discussed. An application is made to the question of the nuclear field and to the nuclear axial current

AbstractAbstract
[en] We compute non-perturbatively the renormalization coefficients of scalar and pseudoscalar operators, local vector and axial currents, conserved vector and axial current, and OΔS=2LL over a wide range of energy scales using a scaling technique that connects the results of simulations at different values of coupling β. We use the domain wall fermion formulation in the quenched approximation at a series of three values of β = 6.0, 6.45, 7.05 corresponding to lattice spacing scaling by factors of two

AbstractAbstract
[en] We review the ever increasing experimental evidence for a substantial quenching of the Gamow-Teller strength in nuclei. At the same time it is shown that the resulting effective CAe converges to unity. Possible explanations for this apparent renormalisation in bound nucleons are discussed. More experimental work to elucidate this fundamental problem is proposed

AbstractAbstract
[en] An explicit relationship between the axial-current operator, which satisfies the Adler-Bardeen theorem, and the axial supersymmetric current, which appears in the supercurrent, is found. The axial and superconformal anomalies are mutually consistent in all orders of perturbation theory
