AbstractAbstract
[en] The relationship between cellulose content of the normal mature fiber of cotton and its fiber strength had been analysied. By using 3H labelling technique, the effect of cellulose deposition speed on the fiber strength had been studied. The cellulose content of normal mature fiber of all species (varieties) was higher than 85%, but it had no significant effect on the fiber strength. When the cellulose content was lower than 80%, the fiber strength increased with increasing cellulose content. The deposition speed of cellulose had significant effect on the fiber strength

[en] A dosimeter using Kodak LR 115 cellulose nitrate as detecting material was designed. It serves to determine 3 neutron energy ranges. The 6Li(n,α)t reaction is used for the thermal region, the sensitivity being 0.2mrads to 1 rad for neutron energies between thermal and 0.05eV. The same reaction defines the 0.05eV to 1000eV energy range but the detection system is placed inside a cadmium screen; the sensitivity is 0.2 to 500rads. Finally above 1MeV the neutron reactions used are those on the detector components themselves, i.e. elastic collisions and (nα) reactions on carbon, nitrogen and oxygen nuclei. Detection is possible between 0.7 and 700 rads

On a etudie un dosimetre qui utilise le nitrate de cellulose kodak LR 115 comme materiau detecteur. Il permet de determiner 3 domaines d'energies de neutrons. Le domaine thermique pour lequel on utilise la reaction 6Li(nα)t. La sensibilite est de 0,2mrads a 1rad pour des energies de neutrons allant du domaine thermique a 0,05eV. Cette meme reaction definit le domaine d'energie de 0,05eV a 1000eV mais l'ensemble de detection est place dans un ecran de cadmium, la sensibilite est de 0,2 a 500 rads. Enfin, au dela de 1MeV, on utilise les reactions des neutrons sur les constituants memes du detecteur, c'est-a-dire les chocs elastiques sur le carbone, l'azote et l'oxygene ainsi que les reactions (nα) sur ces memes noyaux. [en] The tracks of heavy charged particles observed in celluloid film stacks were investigated. Two kinds of etching method were applied for this study. The etching velocity (EV), the residual range (RR), and the total track length (TTLE and TTLO) of each etching method were measured, and used for the identification of travelling particles. The correlations among these values were good. However, some tracks were out of these correlations. These abnormal tracks may be produced by the nuclear interaction. An example of the nuclear fragmentation is shown in a photograph. An example of the recoil event is also shown in another photograph. (Kato, T.)

[en] The charge fractions Fi and the square of the average charge ief2 Σi2Fi for various targets thicknesses t and ions initial charges i0 are calculated on the basis of the previously aobtained experimental results for the Be, B, N and o fast ions having passed through the gaseous and solid targets. This made it possible to study the dependence of the energy losses, conditioned by the ion interaction with the target electrons -dE/dxel, and energy losses caused directly by ion recharging -dE/dxr, on the ions initial charge state in the area of the target small thickness up to obtaining the charge equilibrium. The calculations of the energy losses of the nitrogen ions with the initial energu of 0.35 MeV/nucleon, having past through the celluloid films, are presented

На основе полученных ранее экспериментальных результатов для быстрых ионов Be, B, N и О, прошедших через газовые и твердые мишени, рассчитаны зарядовые фракции Fi и квадрат среднего заряда ief2 = Σi2Fi для различных толщин мишени t и начальных зарядов иона i0. Это позволило исследовать зависимость потерь энергии, обусловленных взаимодействием ионов с электронами мишени, -dE/dxэл, и потерь энергии, вызванных непосредственно перезарядкой ионов, -dE/dxп, от начального зарядового состояния ионов в области малых толщин мишени до установления зарядового равновесия.
