AbstractAbstract
[en] In inelastic electron scattering, form factors are measured for the 1.115 MeV level (J/sup π/ = (5/2)-) in 65Cu. This transition from the ground state (J/sup π/ = (3/2)-) is predominantly longitudinal, with B(E2,k)up-arrow = 290 +- 20 e2fm4. In the framework of a model calculation, the M1 strength is deduced to be B(M1,k)up-arrow = 0.12 +- 0.03μ/sub N/ 2 [GAMMA/sub γ/(M1) = 1.3 +- 0.4 meV]

[en] The 65Cu(n,2n)64Cu reaction has been re-evaluated for the ENDF/B-files using a combination of selected experimental data and a semi-empirical technique for fitting the data at energies above 15 MeV. An estimate of the (n,3n) reaction was also obtained as a result of the analysis

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this paper, a recent combined isotope and interdiffusion analysis is adapted to the case of binary liquid alloys. Shear-cell interdiffusion experiments with a layer enriched in 65Cu sandwiched between the interdiffusion couple ends have been performed on liquid Al-Cu that is suitable for demonstration of the application of this analysis. (Note that the analysis is not limited to the use of the shear-cell technique.) The self-diffusion coefficient of Cu is then obtainable as a function of composition. Results of the new analysis are in good agreement with an independently measured Cu self (tracer) diffusion coefficient at two compositions.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The PHOBOS Collaboration has measured transverse momentum distributions of charged hadrons produced in Cu+Cu collisions at √sNN = 200 and 62.4 GeV. The nuclear modification factor RAANpart is calculated relative to p+p data at both collision energies as a function of collision centrality. For the same number of participating nucleons, RAANpart is essentially the same in both systems over the full range of pT that is measured. In addition, we observe that within experimental uncertainties, the ratio of 200 GeV to 62.4 GeV Cu+Cu yields has only a moderate centrality dependence and is consistent with the value previously measured in Au+Au collisions for a broad range of pT. [en] PHENIX has measured the two-particle azimuth correlation in Au+Au at √s 200 GeV. Jet shape and yield at the away side are found to be strongly modified at intermediate and low pT, and the modifications vary dramatically with pT and centrality. At high pT, away side jet peak reappears but the yield is suppressed. Similar jet strength is found for Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions with similar number of participant nucleons. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Influence of cascade atoms on the preferential emission of isotopes during sputtering has been studied by a static Monte Carlo simulation program, for zero-fluence and low-energy (below 1 keV) Xe ion bombardment of a 63Cu0.565Cu0.5 target. Calculations show that the probabilities of the sputtered cascade atoms of 63Cu and 65Cu are over 80%. The calculations also show that towards the surface, the momentum flux of the cascade atoms of 63Cu is much more than that of 65Cu. The momentum asymmetry in the collision cascade plays a dominating role in preferential emission of the lighter 63Cu atoms in the near-normal direction during low-bombarding-energy 63Cu-65Cu sputtering
