AbstractAbstract
[en] The half-life of the alpha emitter 148Gd isotope has been measured by following the decay curve of a low activity 148Gd- 241Am mixed source. Based on two years of decay the preliminary result is T((1)/(2)) 70.9 ± 1.0 y

AbstractAbstract
[en] Better accuracy of the 148Gd half-life improves our knowledge on the nucleosynthesis of the p-elements. In order to determine the half-life the alpha decay of a weak 148Gd/241Am mixed source was used in an activation technique, with a compact dedicated system. The source stability as well as the electronics can be monitored by following the yield of the long lived 241 Am. The preliminary result is T1/2 = 65 ± 7 y. (R.P.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The 16-channel preamplifier model CPA16 from Multi Channel Systems was studied. The CPA16 preamplifier/amplifier module is a candidate to be used as the preamplifiers and amplifiers for the focal plane detectors of the Mass Analyzer of Super Heavy Atoms (MASHA). The equipment used to test the CPA16, the results of testing the CPA16 with a pulser, a mixed 229Th/148Gd source and a 252Cf source, and a summary of the results will be presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] Three parameters formula for the transition energies is used to analyse the superdeformed rotational bands (SDRB's) in Gadolinium nuclei of A ∼150 A mass region. The formula connects directly the unknown spin and the energy of the level. For each SD band the model parameters are determined by using a computer simulated search program to reproduce the observed gamma transition energies. The calculated level spins, transition energies, rotational frequencies, Kinematic and dynamic moments of inertia are examined for seven SDRB's in Gadolinium nuclei. Namely the SDRB's are 148Gd (SD-1,SD-6) and 150Gd (SD-1, SD-5, SD-8, SD-9, SD-10).

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this paper, a global systematics of the spins of nuclear isomers are presented. As pointed out in the accompanying paper, isomers have been defined as those excited states whose half-lives are equal to or, more than 1 ns

AbstractAbstract
[en] This work presents the determination of the 148Gd and 154Dy content in Pb targets irradiated by 220-2600 MeV protons. It includes the chemical separation of lanthanides, followed by the preparation of proper samples, by molecular plating technique, for alpha-spectrometry measurements. The experimental cross section results were compared with theoretical predictions, calculated with the INCL++-ABLA07 code. The comparisons showed a satisfactory agreement for 148Gd (less than within a factor two), while measured 154Dy cross sections are higher than the theoretical values. (authors)
