AbstractAbstract
[en] A theory for exotic radioactivity, by which is meant the emission of particles heavier than alpha particles in the radioactive decay of heavy nuclei, is presented. In this theory the shape-coexistence model for light nuclei like 16O and 40Ca is quantitatively extended to heavier nuclei and use is made of the theory of fission dynamics worked out by J. Primack. 7 refs.; 5 figs.; 1 table

AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect of collective mode excitation in heavy fragment radioactivity (HFR) is explored and discussed in the light of current experimental data. It is found that the coupling and resonance effects in fragment interaction and also the proper angular momentum effects may lead to an important enhancing of the emission process. New useful procedures are proposed for the study of nuclear decay properties. The relations between different decay processes are investigated in detail. We are also trying to understand and explain in a unified way the reaction mechanisms in decay phenomena. (Author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] LHCb is a dedicated flavour physics experiment at the LHC. Precision measurements of CP violation and the study of rare decays of hadrons containing beauty and charm quarks constitute powerful searches for New Physics. A selection of recent LHCb results and their implications to physics beyond the Standard Model are discussed.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The analytical superasymmetric fission model (ASAFM) was derived in 1980 and it was improved and intensively exploited during 1983-1986. An improved version is presented accounting for odd-even staggering of emission rates observed for alpha-decay, 14C and 24Ne radioactivities. Calculated half-life spectra for various particles emitted from parent nuclei are showing three different peaks: alpha, heavy ions with daughters around 208Pb, and light cold fission fragments corresponding to heavy fragments with N approx=82, Z approx=50. The most probable light fission fragments: 100Zr, 104Mo, 106Mo, experimentally observed in thermal neutron induced cold fission of 234U, 236U, 239Np and 240Pu are reproduced by calculations within ASAFM. The cold fission component measured in spontaneous bymodel fission of some nuclids with Z>=100, N>=158 is due to the neighbourhood of 264Fm which is expected to fission in two identical doubly magic 132Sn fragments. Cold fission can be interpreted as heavy ion emission and ASAFM provides a unified description of these phenomena, heavy ion radioactivities and alpha decay.(authors)
