AbstractAbstract
[en] Mean amplitudes of vibration for IOF5 have been recalculated from known spectroscopic data using the ''Method of the Characteristic Vibrations''. The obtained values are in excellent agreement with those obtained from electron diffraction and microwave measurements and give also a correct picture of the molecular geometry. (author)

[en] On the basis of 1'3C and 19F NMR data it was ascertained that oxidizing fluorination of 3-iodo-4-methylfurazan with xenon difluoride in the atmosphere of dry argon at 20 Deg C in the absolute acetonitrile solution yields the relevant (difluoro-λ3-indanyl)azole. Potentiality of using the compound prepared as a more selective fluorinating reagent than xenon difluoride is shown

[en] The infrared intensities (and wavenumbers) for the fundamental vibrations of ClF5, BrF5, and IF5 have been predicted, using an atomic polar tensor for the F atom transferred from the CH3F molecule, together with matrices obtained from the normal coordinate analysis of each molecule. The procedure used in these predictions has been described previously in detail for the prediction of infrared intensities of SF6 and UF6. Comparison of the calculated intensities with the experimental spectra of XF5 molecules reveals that the predicted values are in fairly good agreement with the experimental values. The model and procedure allow prediction of intensities of binary combination and overtone bands as well as fundamental vibrations. The comparison between prediction and experiment is presented in some detail, and some reasons for the (relatively few) apparent discrepancies are discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Electron swarm parameters (the electron drift velocity, the longitudinal diffusion coefficient, the ionization and attachment coefficients and the effective ionization coefficient) in pure CF3I were measured in the range of E/N over 140-1000 Td. These swarm parameters were analysed using a Boltzmann equation analysis, and a set of electron collision cross sections for the CF3I molecule was derived so that it was consistent with the measured electron swarm parameters in CF3I. The present set of electron collision cross sections of CF3I derived was used to calculate the limiting E/N values in CF3I-N2 mixtures to confirm that the results of the calculation agreed well with the recent experimental results.
