AbstractAbstract
[en] The higher-lying states in 205Pd (E/sub x/ > or = 2.57 MeV) are examined by means of the 204Pb(d, p) transfer reaction at incident energies of 13.0 and 20.0 MeV. In order to extract a reliable set of spectroscopic factors, a consistent set of distorted-wave Born approximation parameters is derived from analyses of new 208Pb(d, p) data at E/sub d/ = 13.0 MeV, and by reanalysis of earlier 206/sub,/208Pb(d, p) data. By avoiding proton optical parameters based on data in an energy region later found to contain resonances, and by using a deuteron potential which corrects for deuteron breakup, 208Pb(d, p) spectroscopic factors consistent to +- 15% are obtained. The improved distorted-wave Born approximation parameters are used to assign orbital angular momentum (l/sub n/) values to a majority of 110 new levels in 205Pb, most of them heretofore unknown. Significant fractions of the 1i11/2 and the 1j15/2, and the majority of the 2g9/2, 3d5/2, 4s1/2, 2g7/2, and 3d3/2 single-particle strengths are located. These strengths are found to be concentrated about the energy centroids. A previous theoretical calculation of spectroscopic strengths compares poorly with the experimental values

AbstractAbstract
[en] Inelastic scattering of deuterons from a radioactive target of 205Pb have been measured at deuteron energies of 14 and 17 MeV. The reaction products were analysed in the Niels Bohr Institute multiangle spectrograph. Multiplets associated with the couplings of the single-neutron hole states to 3- and 2+ core states were populated in the reaction. The multiplet associated with the 3- state contains at least eleven members. The total L=3 strength observed is the same as for the neighbouring even nuclei with a spread of less than 230 keV. The L=2 strength is distributed over a larger energy interval and strongly influenced by mixing and blocking effects. The measured angular distributions were analyzed with standard DWBA calculations and deformation parameters βsub(L)2 were deduced. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The s-process production ratio of 204Pb and 205Pb, which is of importance for the 205Pb-205Tl chronometry, is calculated in two schematic s-process models. Special emphasis is put on the role of the bound-state β--decay of 205Tl which has been totally overlooked in previous studies. It is shown that the 205Pb production under certain s-process conditions might be large enough to justify a renewed search for extinct 205Pb in meteorites. The influence of uncertainties in the input quantities (electron capture Q-value and ft values) on the results is also discussed. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The spectrum of 205Pb is studied with 204Pd(d, p) transfer reaction at incident energies of 13.0 and 20.0 MeV. Angular distributions are obtained for 15 of the known single-hole fragments in 205Pb below an excitation energy of 2.56 MeV. Spectroscopic strengths are extracted and these results compared with three theoretical calculations. Two of these reproduce the total spectroscopic strengths and centroid energies for the neutron hole states rather well

AbstractAbstract
[en] Lorex experiment provides the method for solar neutrino flux measurement on the basis of the 205Tl(ν,e-)205Pb reaction in the lorandite mineral samples from Allchar, using AMS techniques. Multiple energy loss technique is relevant for identification of 205Pb ions and long living 10Be, 26Al, 36Cl and 53Mn nuclei in geological samples prepared from Iorandite and monitoring minerals such as realgar and marcasite. The results of the study of the effective charge distributions and differences in isobar energy losses as well as their comparison with energy-loss straggling in the gases relevant for isobar separation are reported
