AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper make a comparative metallographic analysis between ''as received'' and steam-autoclaving samples of Inconel 617 alloy (UNS N06617). The samples were tested by steam-autoclaving. Autoclaving test parameters: time 16 days, 550°C temperature and 250 atmosphere pressures. The analysis of samples consisted in metallographic examination: thickness layer measuring, microstructure modification, and Vickers microhardness (MHV0.1) determinations. The tested material was compared with the as received material. For metallographic analysis are used the Olympus GX 71 optical microscope and OPL tester by automatic cycle. Average grain size were automatic determined by linear interception method and reported as ASTM Micro Size number (G). Material microhardness was calculated with relationship of technical book of device. Average grain size for tested and ''as received'' samples is finer than the specification requirements (G max. 3.5). The results showed a good metallographic behavior of Inconel 617 at this steam-autoclaving test. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The influence of manufacturing technology on the characteristics of the glass and steel contact zone in manufacturing new structural material - glass-metal composite is studied theoretically and experimentally. Different types of structures in the contact zone and its dimensions affect the strength characteristics of the composite. Knowledge about changing the width of the glass and steel contact zone after changing such parameters of the technological regime as temperature, holding time and use of solders will allow one to control the structure and characteristics of the glass-metal composite. Experimental measurements of the width of the diffusion zone in the glass-metal composite for different regimes and their statistical processing according to the full factor experiment are presented in this article. The results of analysis of some mechanical characteristics of the diffusion zone are presented: microhardness and modulus of elasticity for samples, prepared according to different processing regimes. AbstractAbstract
[en] One of the applications of tungsten is as high current density dispenser cathode in the form of porous tungsten. It is used as a cathode after being impregnated with an electron emissive material so pore distribution in the part is the most important parameter for its function as a uniform and controlled porosity will lead to a better performance. In this study, application of microhardness as a characterization method for uniformity of the pore distribution and homogeneity of the structure is introduced. Optical microscopy and SEM is used to relate the results and porous tungsten structure for a better understanding of the method applied. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Samples of pitchblende (more than 100 ones) from the collection of several deposits have been studied to clarify the character of the change in its optical properties depending on oxidation degree. The correlation of pitchblende optical properties - intensity of reflection and microhardness with the state of its oxidation is known: with the increase of oxidation degree a conjunt decrease of intensity of reflection and microhardness is observed. But there are samples in which a decreased microhardness corresponds to high reflection and high microhardness - to low reflection. On the basis of studies conducted using spectrophotometric head FMEhP-1, fixed on POLAMR-311 microscope and PMT-3 device it is shown that. optical properties of pitchblende are mainly determined by its oxidation state and the effect of inclusions invisible in light microscope (less than 1 μm) of other minerals, violating the correlation. Thus, galena inclusions cause the increase of reflection intensity and decrease of microhardness and coffinite inclusions - decrease of the reflection intensity
