AbstractAbstract
[en] We describe the experiments realized in order to probe the response of the alpha particles detectors manufactured in our laboratory and their suitability to some important applications. The detection system is a nitrocellulose film which register the transit of the charged particles. The traces left by the particles during their transit are manifested through a controlled chemical attack and counted after that with a microscope. This monitor system was utilized in the following applications: 1) uranium prospection 2) alpha autoradiography 4) determination of air pollution by alpha emitters. The results which were obtained are satisfactory and in spite that in these first applications only qualitative measurements were made the method could be used for quantitative determinations when we will have a better knowledge of the effect of factors which are not under our control. [en] Sensitivity improvement of photographic films applicable in high-energy physics experiments is discussed. To get optimal operating conditions for photographic film PT-6 to check its physical properties on electron beam and in cosmic rays a set for film samples exposure in visible spectrum and in X-rays is constructed. The set includes a start up device, high-voltage pulse oscillator, shapers, a chamber for the sample exposure, voltage divider and electron oscillograph

AbstractAbstract
[en] Nuclear detectors having metal-organic thin film-semiconductor structures have been prepared and tested. The organic thin films (50-200 nm) were thermally sublimed and deposited onto silicon slides (n-type 1000 Ω.cm). The prepared detectors show remarkable performance and their energy resolution was highly improved in comparison to metal-semiconductor (Schottky type) detectors manufactured on identical substrates and under similar conditions

AbstractAbstract
[en] A rapid photoregistrator intended for operation with a nonperforated film with width 50 mm and picture length 178 mm is manufactured for photographing of the active volume of the rapid cycling bubble chamber on two stereoprojections. As to the construction, it's a light opaque box with two film-advanced mechanisms. Step turns of the phototables are made by the maltese mechanism set in motion by hydromotor. The maximum frequency of the photoregistrator operation in the triggering regime is 15 Hz. More than 0.3 million stereopictures have been taken

AbstractAbstract
[en] A densitometer for use with radiation films is described that comprises: means for locating a developed film; means for locating a plurality of infra-red sources relative to said film-locating means so that, when a film is located, the infra-red radiation from each source is received by a predetermined separate area of the film; means for locating a corresponding plurality of infra-red sensors in register with said sources to receive the infra-red radiation therefrom transmitted through each said area of the film; and means for measuring and indicating the output of each sensor.
