[en] Distribution and uptake rate of 42KCl solution when applied as foliar fertilizer were measured. 42KCl tracer solution was prepared by the milking method from 42Ar-42K generator. The total uptake ratio of 42K was about 20% in 24 h. To enhance the uptake rate and amount, leaf moisturing method was effective, which raised the uptake ratio three times higher. When the solution was applied at the back side of the leaf, the absorbed amount was 10 to 20% higher than that amount applied at the surface side of the leaf. The amount of 42K uptake measured in this report suggests that the foliar fertilization of K can be the economical way of fertilization in Brazil. (author)

[en] An isotopic technique enabling the study of sodium and potassium flux rates in human red cells is reported. Nine normal patients have been studied for both isotopes. The results obtained are compared with those published in the literature

La mise en oeuvre des techniques decrites dans la litterature a donne, pour l'etude de la pompe a sodium du globule rouge, des resultats superposables a ceux deja decrits. Le calcul des coefficients d'entree et de sortie du potassium peut etre directement derive des equations appliquees au sodium. Les resultats en sont tres satisfaisants. L'interet de l'exploration de la pompe a sodium du globule rouge est double; en effet, a partir d'un materiel facile a obtenir, il est possible d'etudier: d'une part, l'effet inhibiteur qu'exercent sur cette pompe certains agents pharmacodynamiques; d'autre part, de chercher l'existence d'un trouble membranaire diffus dans certains syndromes cliniques, en particulier dans les hypokaliemies chroniques.
