AbstractAbstract
[en] The precision requirements of the vertex detector at CLIC impose strong limitations on the mass of such a detector ( < 0.2% of a radiation length, Xo, per layer). To achieve such a low mass, ultra-thin hybrid pixel detectors are foreseen, while the mass for cooling and services will be reduced by implementing a power-pulsing scheme that takes advantage of the low duty cycle of the accelerator. The principal aim is to achieve significant power reduction without compromising the power integrity supplied to the front-end electronics. A power-pulsing scheme is proposed for the analog electronics and its electrical features are discussed on the basis of measurements.

AbstractAbstract
[en] A technique is presented for precision measurements of the area densities, density * T, of approximately 5% radiation length carbon and 208Pb targets used in an experiment at Jefferson Laboratory to measure the neutral pion radiative width. The precision obtained in the area density for the carbon target is +/- 0.050%, and that obtained for the lead target through an x-ray attenuation technique is +/- 0.43%.

AbstractAbstract
[en] We assume that the fundamental space scale of the streamer in air, the width of the ionization domain, is defined by the length of the absorption of photoionizing radiation. It is shown that this assumption is consistent with data, available in the literature, on numerical modelling of streamers in weak fields in air, as well as with recent experimental observations. AbstractAbstract
[en] A new front-end electronics hybrid with a flexible kapton substrate was developed for a silicon microstrip vertex detector. The hybrid showed a noise contribution which is estimated to be 1/35th of a minimum ionizing particle signal. Material thickness of the hybrid is 0.7% of a radiation length. The hybrid front-end electronics was operated in a dead-time-less, analog-pipe-line mode

AbstractAbstract
[en] The procedure of thickness measuring of irregular isotope nuclear targets is presented. The method proposed makes use of regularities of particle absorption in the substance. Thickness measuring of isotope nuclear targets by this method is proved possible in case there is a sample of the given element with well-known thickness. The measuring accuracy is about 2%. Tested was the agreement of the results of measuring by the method proposed (Sr90-Y90 source) and the weighing method for regular targets of Cusup(63,65), Fesup(54,56) and Nisup(58,60) isotopes. Rresented also are the results of target thickness measuring of Crsup(52,53,54) isotopes

AbstractAbstract
[en] Vertex detector cable requirements are considered within the context of the SiD concept. Cable material should be limited so that the number of radiation lengths represented is consistent with the material budget. In order to take advantage of the proposed accelerator beam structure and allow cooling by flow of dry gas, 'pulsed power' is assumed. Potential approaches to power distribution, cable paths, and cable design for operation in a 5 T magnetic field are described

AbstractAbstract
[en] The measurements in the COMPASS experiment at CERN require high-resolution tracking detectors, with low radiation length and high-rate capability. For this purpose we have developed and optimized a gaseous microstrip detector 'Micromegas'. Twelve planes with 1024 strips each, assembled in 3 stations of 4 views XYUV, are now being operated with success in the COMPASS environment. We describe here the performances and results obtained
