AbstractAbstract
[en] Iridium nuclei at and beyond the proton drip line have been studied via fusion evaporation reactions. A reaction of 92Mo(78Kr, p2n) at a beam energy of 360 MeV and target thickness 500 μg cm-2 was employed to study 167,167mIr. A reaction of 112Sn(58Ni, p2n) at a beam energy of 266 MeV and target thickness 500 μg cm-2 was used to study 169,169mIr. The experiments were performed at the University of Jyvaeskylae utilizing the RITU separator in conjunction with the focal plane GREAT spectrometer and the JUROGAM Ge array at the target position. Excited states feeding both the ground state and isomeric state in 169Ir, excited states feeding the ground state of 167Ir and the ground state alpha decay of 165Re have been observed for the first time along with excited states feeding 167mIr. Experimental spectroscopic factors and reduced widths have been obtained for the proton and alpha decay of these nuclei

AbstractAbstract
[en] Nuclear spectroscopic information for known nuclides of mass number 165 (Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,Yb,Lu,Hf,Ta,W,Re,Os,Ir) with Z = 63 to 77 and N = 102 to 88 have been evaluated and presented together with adopted energies and Jπ of levels in these nuclei. No excited state data are yet available for 165Eu, 165Gd and 165Tb. In 165Re an isomer is known at about 50 keV; in 165Os, about 15 gamma rays are known but no level scheme has been proposed; and in 165Ir, the the ground state has not yet been identified, but an isomeric state at about 180 keV has been established. Fairly rich structures are known for all the other A = 165 nuclides. Triaxial Superdeformed structures are known in 165Lu (five SD bands). This evaluation supersedes previous full evaluations of A = 165 by 1987Pe01 and 1974Bu29, a midstream evaluation (in update mode) by 1992Pe04 with literature cutoff date of November 1990, and evaluation of 165Lu nuclide by 1999Si16. Extensive new data have since become available for most of the nuclides of A = 165 and have been included in the current evaluation

AbstractAbstract
[en] A group of proton emitters of Au, Ir, Re, Ta has been identified by means of mass values derived from the experimental data. The proton drip line has been determined. It is shown that on the boundary of the proton stability the values of proton pairing energies increase by about 50% as compared with the isotone nuclei near the betastability line. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Pairing properties of nuclei close to the proton-drip line are studied within the framework of the quasiparticle lagrangian method. It is shown that the density dependence of effective pairing forces plays a significant role in the experimentally discovered effect of increase of proton pairing near the proton-drip line. (orig.)
