AbstractAbstract
[en] Facilities required for nuclear structure work was set up in IUAC and used by users across country for mere than two decades. Some of the facilities are Gamma Detector Array (GDA), HlRA-GDA and Indian National Gamma Detector Array (INGA). INGA was a national collaboration between Indian Universities, IUAC, SINP, TIFR, UGC-DAE-CSR-KC, VECC and BARC. The array can accommodate 24 Compton suppressed clover detectors with ∼ 5% photo-peak efficiency. Few physics cases will be discussed with results from IUAC experiments. Static chirality in "1"0"2Rh, Magnetic rotation in In isotopes and robustness of collectivity in nucleon ∼ 50 region are some of the physics phenomena which will be presented. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Electron conversion coefficients for transitions between low lying levels of sup(100)Rh and sup(102)Rh were studied in order to determine the multipolarities of the transitions. Results obtained till now concern 3 transitions in sup(100)Rh and 6 transitions in sup(102)Rh. They confirm the tentative parity attribution proposed in the literature for the two almost independent parts of the low energy level scheme of the two nuclides. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The decay of a 102 Rh source has been followed through gamma-ray spectroscopy for five years. It was confirmed that the longer lived, 6+ level, is the isomeric level, the intensity of the isomeric transition is 2.7 (3) · 10-3 transitions per decay. A new gamma-ray transition with 277.071(13) keV and intensity 1.4(3) · 10-4 transitions per 102m Rh decay, was observed and assigned to the transition between the 4+, 1798.71 keV, and 3+, 1521.64 keV, levels in 102 Ru. AbstractAbstract
[en] The mean cross sections of the 102Pd(n,p)sup(102,102m)Rh and 103Rh(n,2n)sup(102,102m)Rh reactions were experimentally determined by irradiating palladium and rhodium samples for 1 week at an equivalent fission flux of 3 x 1013 n.cm-2.s-1. The equivalent fission neutron flux was determined using six reference threshold reactions [47Ti(n,p)47Sc; 58Ni(n,p)sup(58,58m)Co; 54Fe(n,p)54Mn;46Ti(n,p)46Sc; 92Mo(n,p)sup(92m)Nb and 55Mn(n,2n)54Mn] and appeared to be unperturbed. Thorough radiochemical decontaminations were required in order to separate the sup(102,102m)Rh activities from the high thermal neutron induced palladium, silver and/or iridium activities. The results are compared with the values predicted by empirical relationships. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Beta-decay half-lives of the ground state and an isomer of 102Rh have been determined 207.3(17) d and 3.742(10) y, respectively, by γ-ray decay curves following each β-decay. It has been found that a state (2-) which has a shorter half-life (207.3 d) is the ground state from the result that the half-life of the 41.9 keV isomeric γ-transition was equal to 3.742 y. It has also been confirmed that the 41.9 keV transition is certainly an isomeric transition with X-γ coincidence measurement

AbstractAbstract
[en] Study of the neutron induced reactions are of immense interest in reactor applications. Nuclear reactor consists of structural materials, control rods, fuel and shielding materials, therefore, when neutrons originated from fusion or fission reaction interact with these materials, they change mechanical and physical properties of materials. It is necessary to have cross section data for these materials at all possible neutron energies. Lots of measured experimental nuclear data is available in the EXchange FORmat (EXFOR) library. In present work, we have studied 103Rh(n,2n)102Rh reaction at neutron energy of 20.12±12.03. The cross section was measured using neutron activation analysis (NAA) technique. The experimentally measured neutron cross-section data is also compared with evaluated nuclear data libraries from ENDF/BVII, JEFF 3.2. The measured cross section is important to enhance the nuclear data, as well as for nuclear reactor applications

AbstractAbstract
[en] Beta half-lives of 102m,gRh have been measured by following the change of the gamma-ray intensities with an HPGe detector. The values have been determined to be (3.76 ± 0.10) y and (206 ± 3) d, respectively. Two new gamma-rays of 865.5 and 1493.6 keV were found by gamma singles and gamma-gamma coincidence measurements with HPGe detectors. (author)
