AbstractAbstract
[en] Excited states in 115Pd, populated following the β- decay of 115Rh have been studied by means of γ spectroscopy after the Penning-trap station at the IGISOL facility, University of Jyvaeskylae. The 1/2+ spin and parity assignment of the ground state of 115Pd, confirmed in this work, may indicate a transition to an oblate shape in Pd isotopes at high neutron number.

AbstractAbstract
[en] High-spin excited states in the neutron-rich nucleus 115Rh have been identified for the first time by studying prompt γ rays from the spontaneous fission of 252Cf with the Gammasphere detector array. A new yrast band and a sideband are built in 115Rh. This level scheme is proposed to be built on the 7/2+ ground state. The existence of a large signature splitting and an yrare band in 115Rh shows typical features of a triaxially deformed nucleus. The rigid triaxial rotor plus particle model is used to interpret the level structure of 115Rh. The level energies, the γ branching ratios, the large signature splitting in the yrast band, and the inverted signature splitting in the yrare band in 115Rh are reproduced very well. Strong K mixing occurs in 115Rh at high spin.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Analysis of high statistics triple coincidence fission γ data from 252Cf at Gammasphere including angular correlations yielded well-expanded high-spin level schemes with more complete and reliable spin/parity assignments for 82Ge, 118,120,122Cd and 114,115Rh. Both the quasi-particle/hole couplings and quasi-rotational degrees of freedom are implied to play roles in these Cd isotopes. Evidence for triaxial shapes and octupole components in the Cd isotopes is presented. These Cd isotopes may have triaxial deformations. High-spin level schemes of 114,115Rh have been established for the first time. The existence of a relatively large signature splitting and an yrare band shows typical features of a triaxially deformed nucleus. Possible excited deformed rotational bands are observed, for the first time, in 82Ge. From the multipole mixing ratio measurement, the ground state configurations of 109,111Ru, as well as excited states in 103,107Mo and 111Ru were determined

AbstractAbstract
[en] Exotic, neutron-rich 111Mo and 115Ru nuclei, produced in proton-induced fission of 238U target, were separated with the IGISOL mass separator. The separator was coupled to the JYFLTRAP Penning trap to select the ions of a single, desired element out of the isobaric IGISOL beam. Monoisotopic samples of 115Ru and 111Mo ions were observed with a microchannel plate detector after the trap or were implanted on a catcher foil for gamma- and beta-ray coincidence spectroscopy. In spite of short data taking time new gamma transitions were identified in the beta decay of very neutron-rich 115Ru. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The beta decay of 115Ru has been studied by means of Penning-trap-assisted beta and gamma spectroscopy at the IGISOL facility. The level scheme of 115Rh has been substantially extended and compared with the level systematics of lighter rhodium isotopes. Tentative candidates for three states of the deformed K = 1/2 band have been suggested. The beta-strength distribution of the beta decay of 115Ru differs from the beta decays of 111,113,113mRu isotopes due to non-observation of the 3-quasiparticle states in 115Rh. The decay properties of 115Ru indicate a spin-parity of (3/2+) for its beta-decaying ground state. In addition, possible Nilsson states as well as the shape and spin transitions in odd neutron-rich ruthenium isotopes are discussed. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The present work describes the measuring of Qβ values of β-instable isotopes of Tc, Ru, Rh and Pd. The mass range A=110 to 117 comprises neutron-rich, short-living isotopes. Due to their small (fission) abundances, few data are known, especially regarding level schemes or gamma radiation. The proton-induced fission and a fast online mass separation was used to produce these nuclides in the IGISOL facility located in Jyvaeskylaein Finland. The β,γ,X coincidence apparatus used during the experiments allows measuring Qβ values as well as γ,X coincidences. The latter represent the basic input data for a calculation of Qβ values out of β,γ coincidences. It is so possible to examine nuclides with incomplete level schemes; similarly, these level schemes can be extended using beta, gamma coincidence data. Twelve Qβ values of neutron-rich Tc to Pd isotopes could be determined, yielding nuclear masses, mass defects and neutron separation energies. Eight of them were determined for the first time; another one could be confirmed. For three more, the error of earlier values could be decreased by a factor of nearly ten. The resulting data are of interest for the review of nuclear mass models, they represent also input in astrophysical network calculations. (orig.)
