[en] The solar gamma-ray spectrometer on ASTRO-A satellite (HINOTORI) is capable of detecting gamma-ray line emission associated with solar flares. Accelerated protons and heavy nuclei interact with solar atmospheric nuclei and give rise to gamma-ray lines via positron annihilation, deuteron formation and deexcitation of C, N, O, and so on. The gamma-ray spectrometer is a phoswich type scintillation detector of a 3.5 inch diameter and 2 inch high CsI (Tl) scintillator surrounded with a 0.2 inch thick plastic scintillator, which covers the gamma-ray energy range of 0.24 - 6.48 MeV with a energy resolution of 10% at 662 keV. Primary data output is a full resolution 128 channel pulse height spectrum every 2 s. The problem of determining the acceleration mechanism of nuclear component can be resolved through an analysis of intensities and time profiles of these gamma-ray lines

[en] A technique is proposed for the determination of the absorption range of neutrons generated by solar cosmic rays. This range can be detected by two neutron super monitors located in the same geographical point but at different altitudes. 5 refs

[en] New cases of preflare increases in the cosmic ray proton and electron components are presented. The set of the known data on the frequency, duration, and value of the preflare increases has been used to propose a physical model of preflare increases in solar cosmic rays
