AbstractAbstract
[en] Analytical expressions of < rsup(a)> for an atom, with arbitrary ionization degree are found within the Thomas-Fermi model including the corrections for exchange and inhomogeneity of the electron density. The contribution of strongly bound electrons is obtained for the expectation values of rsup(a) with -5/2< a<-1/2. The Z-1 expansion coefficients of < rsup(a)> as a function of the electron number are given in an explicit form

AbstractAbstract
[en] The energy functional of Thomas-Fermi-Dirac-von Weizsäcker model with external potential is studied. The minimizer for the functional is investigated. Furthermore, the value and some properties of the minimizer are estimated from the functional without solving the associate Euler-Lagrange equation

AbstractAbstract
[en] A phenomenological approch is suggested for calculating two temperature equations of state at high pressures. The Thomas-Fermi Dirac model and the SESAME equation of state are used to calculate the electron contribution while the solid gas interpolation method is used for ions. Moreover, an algorithm is proposed to calculate the first and higher moments of the charge distribution within the framework of the Thomas-Fermi Dirac model. (author). 5 refs

[en] The equation of the Thomas-Fermi-Dirac statistical model of the atom is solved in a linear in the exchange parameter approximation at large distances from the nucleus. General expressions for atomic radii are obtained from this solution. Atomic radii are calculated for atoms with large nuclear charges. 7 refs

[en] Collisional damping widths of isoscalar giant monopole, isovector giant dipole and isoscalar giant quadrupole excitations for 120Sn and 208Pb at zero and finite temperatures are calculated within Thomas-Fermi approximation by employing a recently proposed modified Skyrme force and the results are compared with previous works. AbstractAbstract
[en] It is shown that the Thomas-Fermi Fisher information is negative. A slightly more sophisticated model proposed by Gaspar provides a qualitatively correct expression for the Fisher information: Gaspar's Fisher information is proportional to the two-third power of the atomic number. Accurate numerical calculations show an almost linear dependence on the atomic number
