AbstractAbstract
[en] The two nucleon problems in odd-odd nuclei have already been studied using extension of Davidov and Filippov's nonaxial and axial rotor models. In some cases the spectra are found to have the effects of multi-nucleonic configuration mixing especially at higher excitations. It is found that the spectra and other properties of some odd-odd nuclei result better using four-nucleonic configuration mixing in comparison with the predictions using excited configuration mixing for a 2-nucleon system. Thus it is very well evidenced that in case of some nuclei under excitations the nucleons other than in valence orbit too start contributing towards nuclear properties in competition with the mixing of Nilsson states available to valence nucleons. AbstractAbstract
[en] Recently, the ground state bands of neutron-rich 173-175Tm isotopes have been studied by using deep inelastic and transfer reactions. For example, the ground state band of 174Tm is known up to spin Iπ = 13-. In case of odd-even 173,175Tm, the ground state bands have been established up to spin Iπ = 23/2+.These isotopes are prolate deformed and typically have orbitals with large spin projection on the symmetry axis, Ω, near both the proton and neutron Fermi surfaces. In the present work, Projected Shell Model (PSM) has been employed to study the ground state bands of neutron-rich 172-175Tm isotopes

AbstractAbstract
[en] The experimental data of K=0 bands in the rare earth region has been analyzed. The Newby term in the expression of Newby shift is solely responsible for the observed odd-even staggering in K=0 bands except for the cases where Ω_p = Ω_n =Ω = 1/2 orbital is involved and it shows the importance of decoupling parameter term as well as the Newby term

AbstractAbstract
[en] The 1965 version of the Nuclear Data Sheets was revised according to experimental data received prior to May 1974, including approximately 120 papers. Data are presented for ten nuclei (Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Hf, Ta, W, Re, Os, and Ir). Only alpha decay data are available for Os and Ir, only the half-life is known for Re, and no level scheme is known for Er. The Er(49.3 h) decay scheme is well established and provides the only data available on the Tm level scheme (16 levels, 9 J/sup π/ values, and 3 proposed rotational bands). The Tm(63.6 h), Lu(6.7 d), and /sup m/Yb(3.6 μs) decay schemes are compared, and suggested changes and discrepancies in the Yb level scheme are noted. These data as well as considerable reaction data and γ-multipolarity data establish the Yb level scheme, including 128 levels (45 J/sup π/ values) and 14 proposed rotational bands. Data on the Lu level scheme are available from Hf(1.87 y) decay and include 10 levels with J/sup π/ assignments. Two isomers (3.7 m and 440 μs) and their decays are also known for Lu. The Hf level scheme has been studied by Ta(36.8 m) decay and (xnγ) reactions and includes 34 levels (17 J/sup π/ values) with 3 proposed rotational bands. A preliminary decay scheme for W(6.7 m) suggests 4 levels and J/sup π/ assignments in Ta. (xnγ) reactions in W have established the ground-state band up to J/sup π/ = 14+. (U.S.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Highlights: • Several cross sections of 175Lu induced by 14 MeV neutrons were measured. • Neutron energies were measured by the cross-section ratios method. • Comparisons between present work and previous data were also given. - Abstract: The cross-sections for 14 MeV neutron interaction with 175Lu were precisely measured by the neutron activation and off-line gamma ray technique. The neutron fluence was monitored by the accompanying α-particle of the T(d,n)α reaction, and the neutron energies were determined by using the cross-section ratio method of 90Zr(n,2n)89Zr to 93Nb(n,2n)92mNb reactions. As a result, the cross-sections of 175Lu(n,2n)174mLu, 175Lu(n,2n)174gLu, 175Lu(n,p)175m+gYb and 175Lu(n,α)172Tm reactions have been deduced at En = 14.1 ± 0.3 MeV, 14.5 ± 0.3 MeV and 14.7 ± 0.3 MeV, respectively. Meanwhile, the comparisons between this work and the date reported by other groups previously were also given. For the comparison, it was found that there were nonnegligible discrepancies among these experimental data, as well as for several databases. As a conclusion, present data seem to be more consistent with the database of ENDF/B-VII.1, but trend to be lower than those of JEFF-3.2 and FENDL-3.1b, except the 175Lu(n,2n)174m+gLu reaction which are all in agreement.

AbstractAbstract
[en] A comparative evaluation of two methods for the production of "1"7"2Tm in nuclear reactors is carried out. They are respectively based on two chains of double neutron capture reactions, "1"7"0Er(n,γ)"1"7"1Er(n,γ)"1"7"2Er(β"-)"1"7"2Tm and "1"7"0Er(n,γ)"1"7"1Er(β"-)"1"7"1Tm(n,γ)"1"7"2Tm, and a chain of triple neutron capture: "1"6"9Tm(n,γ)"1"7"0Tm(n,γ)"7"1Tm(n,γ)"1"7"2Tm. Theoretical considerations with respect to both ways of production are formulated and the mathematical equation are solved. Experiments of irradiation of Er_2O_3 and Tm_2O_3 were performed. Advantages and drawbacks of both methods are discussed. (author)
