AbstractAbstract
[en] The current status of construction and testing of Transition Radiation Detectors (TRD) for ALICE at LHE, JINR, is presented. The main purpose of this detector is electron identification at intensive pion background. The whole ALICE TRD system is comprised of 540 wire chambers of total sensitive area ∼750 m2. Each chamber consists of drift and amplifying gaps and a radiator. One hundred such TRD chambers will be constructed at LHE, JINR.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Transition-radiation detectors for cosmic-ray work are described which consist of plastic foam of multiple plastic foil radiators, followed by proportional chambers. A summary of the properties of such detectors is given, and the detection and discrimination efficiencies for energetic particles are discussed. Several possible applications of such devices for studies of cosmic-ray particles in the energy region γ=E/mc2>103 are advertised

AbstractAbstract
[en] Transition radiation (TR) emitted by high energy cosmic ray muons was investigated with Single Particle Detecting Telescope at zenith angle 60 deg at sea level. For the transition radiator, three different materials were tested. They are, Styrofoam of 28 cm thickness, e; 100 Al-foils of 17 mm thickness, 100 polypropylene sheet of 20μm thickness. In the case of polypropylene sheets as a radiator, the TR emission was indicated

AbstractAbstract
[en] We introduce the TRD of the CBM experiment at the planned FAIR facility of GSI. A study on the optimization of the detector parameters in what concerns the electron/pion identification performance is presented. Results on tracking performance as well as on rate capability are shown

AbstractAbstract
[en] The measurement of decay products from rare particles in the CBM experiment defines the requirements for the used detector systems. This report describes the approaches for the Transition Radiation Detector to fulfil these requirements and presents the current status of the prototype development. First results from beam tests with these prototypes are discussed.
