AbstractAbstract
[en] High-spin states up to the F7/2-shell band termination at Jπ=15+ have been observed for the first time in the odd-odd N=Z=23 nucleous 46V. The new level scheme has two separate structures corresponding to spherical and prolate shapes. A rotational band has very similar energies to the yrast sequence in 46Ti and is therefore assumed to be a T=1 configuration

AbstractAbstract
[en] The analysis of new experimental data, rotor-plus-quasideuteron and shell model calculations for the odd-odd N = Z nuclei 46V and 50Mn is presented. Low-lying low-spin states exhibiting collective properties appropriate for the K = 0, K = 3, and K = 5 bands are identified. The strong isovector M1 transitions of quasideuteron origin in 46V and 50Mn are shown to be important indicators for collective features and perfectly fit into the systematics of M1 transitions in odd-odd N = Z nuclei. [en] Lifetimes of excited nuclear states are studied with a particular emphasis on the determination of nuclear lifetimes by means of the Doppler shift decomposition attenuation method - DSAM - which is based on the mathematical theory of stochastic processes; by its own nature, the emission of recoil nuclei, their motion through an amorphous medium and the detection of gamma rays resulting from these nuclei are all stochastic processes as well. Measurements of lifetimes together with other measurements can supply nuclear structure data, as well as information on the slowing-down process of an energetic ion through a certain material. The experimental tests have been carried out on the Tandem accelerator - IFIN, Bucharest. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Deformed configuration mixing shell model with isospin projection (DSMT) is applied to study the structure of collective T=0 and T=1 bands in the odd-odd N=Z nuclei 46V and 50Mn. The pf-shell KB3 interaction is employed in the calculations. The T=0 and T=1 bands in both the nuclei compare well with experiment including the E2 and M1 transition strengths. The DSMT predicted structures of the bands in these nuclei are similar to those in the rotor-plus-quasideuteron model
