AbstractAbstract
[en] The extraction behavior of thorium and uranium in TBP diluent systems was studied. The main purpose of this paper is to achieve the best separation conditions of macroquantities of uranium from thorium nitrate solution. The experimental work was started with the determination of the equilibrium diagram for uranium and for thorium. The temperature effect, TBP concentration and organic/aqueous ratio were checked. Experiments with fluoride and aluminum ions in the feed solution were also carried out. From the obtained data and the existing distribution data it was possible to elaborate the correspondent flow sheets for the uranium and thorium recovery from simulated spent thorium fuel solutions. Estudou-se o comportamento de extracao do torio e do uranio no sistema fosfato de tri-n-butila (TBP)/varsol, visando a elaboracao de um esquema de separacao de microquantidades de uranio em presenca de microquantidade de torio. A parte experimental consistiu da determinacao das curvas de equilibrio para o uranio e para o torio, a partir dos quais verificou-se a influencia das demais variaveis, a saber: concentracao de HNO3, concentracao de uranio, concentracao de torio, velocidade de agitacao, temperatura, concentracao de TBP, relacao volumetrica entre as fases, influencia do ion fluoreto, efeito simultaneo do ion fluoreto e do ion aluminio e finalmente, o efeito da presenca do torio na fase aquosa de alimentacao. Os resultados obtidos nos experimentos, juntamente com os dados fornecidos pela literatura, permitiram a indicacao de um esquema para a recuperacao de uranio, simulando-se as condicoes existentes nas solucoes nitricas obtidas da dissolucao do torio irradiado. Como complementacao propos-se, tambem, um esquema global para a recuperacao tanto do uranio quanto do torio de solucoes provenientes da dissolucao de torio e/ou de combustiveis de torio irradiados.
