AbstractAbstract
[en] Electrical power system of the Reactor Research Centre at Kalpakkam is described. Spares and maintenance problems have been minimised by standardization of critical equipment like circuit breakers, station batteries, motors and motor-controls. For a trouble free power supply to the Fast Breeder Test Reactor and the Radioactive Laboratories, the power system has been adequately protected; preventive maintenance programme for each equipment has been drawn. Maintenance schedule for two typical equipments, namely, 200 A-H 110V station battery and 20 MVA, 33/11 KV, ON 103 transformer are given. Maintenance problems which came up with cable joints, switchgears, control and protective circuits, station batteries and transformers are discussed. It is also described how these problems were solved. (M.G.B.)
