AbstractAbstract
[en] Plate window glass may be used as a routine high-dose dosimeter. Samples were tested in terms of their response to 60Co γ-radiation at various doses, dose rates, temperatures, relative humidities, thickness and light, for these influences might be encountered in typical radiation processing environments. The analysis is based on spectrophotometry in the visible absorption spectrum. The linear response range was found to be approximately 0.2 to 50kGy, with no appreciable dose rate dependence over dose rates from 60Gy/h to 2400Gy/h, no appreciable temperature dependence for irradiation at temperatures in the range 00C to 500C and no appreciable relative humidity dependence from the dried condition (about r.h. 0%) to moist condition (in water). The reproducibility of dose assessment for the dosimeters selected randomly from several batches is about ± 3 percent. (author)
