AbstractAbstract
[en] A small Mather-type Plasma Focus facility operated by a single 32 μF, 15 KV (3.6 KJ) capacitor has been designed and fabricated. Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) based trigger circuit was used to switch the swinging cascade spark gap. Special attention was given to reduce the external inductance of the circuit. Preliminary measurements with Argon have shown that the device operate reproducibly and reliably. The fabrication of a bigger 16 KJ Plasma Focus with necessary diagnostic facilities is underway.
