[en] The Fourth International Symposium of the OECD/NEA Project was held on 14-16 October 1992, in Stockholm. It marked the end of the Stripa Project, that began in 1977. The primary goals of this project were to develop techniques to scientifically characterize a granitic rock mass, in order to transform it into a radioactive waste disposal. The symposium was organised into five sessions: (1) Natural Barrier-characterization; (2) Natural Barrier-modelling; (3) Engineered-barriers; (4) Overview Reporting; (5) Panel Discussion. Separate abstracts were prepared for all the papers in this volume. (TEC)
