AbstractAbstract
[en] Simulation analyses for forced vibration tests of a large scaled containment mode at Hualien in taiwan will be presented in this paper. A hybrid method, that combines the boundary integral equation method and the finite element method, is used for the analyses. Through comparisons of the prediction and post-correlation results with the actual test results, the reliability of the present hybrid method is confirmed. It is pointed out in this study that determination of soil properties in the near field of the foundation is very important to evaluate soil-structure interaction effects properly.
