AbstractAbstract
[en] Experience gained during the last fifteen years in the determination of 226Ra in environmental samples is summarized. The different methods developed and/or employed for the determination of 226Ra in waters using either proportional counters or the liquid scintillation technique, as well as the methods used for its determination in soils, sediments and vegetation applying either gamma-ray spectrometry with semiconductor Ge-detectors or the alpha-particle spectrometry technique, are described, compared and assessed
