[en] This paper presents a method for measuring α particle by the principle of ion collection and long distance α detector. the experimental determination showed that the detection limit of current is 12.15fA, a good relation exists between current and α source strength in the range of 11.13-4265.0 Bq. The contribution of various factors to background current was estimated. the study of application of this technique to measurement of α/β surface contamination and preliminary study of electrostatic α particle detector have been carried out.
