[en] Thomson scattering X-ray source in Tsinghua University requires precise timing synchronization between photocathode RF gun's trigger laser and accelerator RF phase. This paper introduces ultrafast UV laser system design and development, photocathode RF gun's timing system design, and sub-picosecond synchronization diagnostic technique. Using high harmonic phase detector method, the measured rms time jitter between laser-RF phase is less than 200fs[1Hz, 100kHz]. (authors)
