AbstractAbstract
[en] The method of electron-positron annihilation has been applied to show the existence of a new type of defects (complexities) in the Pb+0.07 at.%Au alloy. Complexities are supposed to be formed in the temperature range that provides for the energy gain. The efficiency of complexities with respect to positron capture is shown to be much higher than the efficiency of capture by vacancies

AbstractAbstract
[en] Positron annihilation, employed to study the radiation effect of a hard gamma-radiation upon single crystals of molybdenum, has indicated that during the annealing of defects caused in a single crystal of molybdenum by irradiation with high-energy gamma-photons, the annihilation parameter undergoes nonmonotonic decrease. The consideration of defects in single crystal leads to the conclusion that their parameters prior to annealing correspond to small-diameter pores having a positron capture effectiveness much greater than that of the vacancies. Discussed is the possible mechanism of formation of defects in gamma-irradiation

AbstractAbstract
[en] Investigation of anisotropy of curves of annihilation photon angular correlation (APAC) for CdTe monocrystals oriented for different crystallographic planes has been carried out. Specially unalloyed planes of CdTe monocrystals (n-type, with specific resistance ρ=109 Ohmxcm at 300 K) oriented for planes (111), (110) and (100) have been investigated. The results obtained show considerable anisotropy of the effective radius value of electron localization in structure defects. Estimation of positron capture rate by structure defects in CdTe:K(110)≅4.35x108 c-1 has been carried out

AbstractAbstract
[en] Positron annihilation has been employed to observe relaxation in polycrystalline metal, initiated by a thermal shock (the temperature interval was 300-80 K). A variation of the counting velocity of the angular distribution peak of γ-photons with time is assumed to be connected with internal stress on the polycrystalline grain boundaries (or subgrain ones) favouring accelerated migration of positrons to them
