Proceedings of the 2-nd workshop on JINR tau-charm factory1993
AbstractAbstract
[en] The main features of the JINR tau-charm factory design with colliding beam energy up to 2,5 GeV are discussed. The booster synchrotron is designed as the injection of tau-charm factory and will be used for acceleration of 500 MeV electrons and positrons. Booster and storage ring magnet systems, power supply and RF system are described. 12 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] A program library based on the macro particle method for numerical simulation and optimization of multi-component ion beam transportation from ion sources to RFQ accelerators is presented. The latest version of library was applied for simulations of transverse dynamics of an argon ion beam in the beam line from the 18 GHz ECR Ion Source to the linear RFQ accelerator of the RIKEN Beam Factory

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of a numerical simulation of Au ion-beam transportation from an ESIS source to the beginning of the linear accelerator (radio frequency quadrupole (RFQ)) are given. Features of two versions of the channel (without separation and with a separation of charges) are analyzed.

AbstractAbstract
[en] To increase the intensity of an ion beam injected in a cyclotron, the possibility of focusing by an axial potential electrode is investigated. The influence of the electric field of an electrode on the beam emittance and that of particle losses on an electrode are estimated. The results of our numerical simulation are compared with theoretical estimations.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The state-selective (SS) multi-reference (MR) coupled-cluster (CC) method exploiting the single-reference (SR) formalism [P. Piecuch, N. Oliphant, and L. Adamowicz, J. Chem. Phys. 99, 1875 (1993)] is applied to the first excited totally symmetric singlet state of a prototype molecular system composed of eight hydrogen atoms. Minimum basis set is employed and various geometries are considered. The SS CC energies are compared with the results of the state-universal (SU) MR CC calculations involving single and double excitations (CCSD) as well as with the exact energies obtained using the full configuration interaction method. Comparison is also made with the results of the standard SR CCSD calculations. In both nondegenerate and quasidegenerate regions, our SS CC theory truncated at double excitations [SS CCSD(TQ) method] provides much better description of the first excited state than the genuine multi-determinantal SU CCSD formalism

AbstractAbstract
[en] The first results of the experiment on the beam-based adaptive alignment of the magnetic elements of linear colliders are given in this report. This experiment has been realized on the Stanford Linear Collider at SLAC (USA) at the FFTB facility and showed the good convergence and stability of the method. It can be applied to compensate as any sharp or fluent technical displacement of quads as the seismic vibrations of the ground. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Many versions of power-supply systems for NICA booster extraction-kicker magnets have been analyzed. They all satisfy the project parameters, but they differ in effectiveness, cost, difficulty in construction, and achievable spread of the kick force along the extracted bunch length. The considered variants include different types of capacitive energy storage (forming line and lumped capacity) and kicker magnets (with and without a ferrite core).

AbstractAbstract
[en] A program library for numerical simulation of a multicomponent charged particle beam in transport lines is presented. The library is aimed for simulation of high current, low energy multicomponent ion beam from ion source through beamline and realized under the Windows user interface for the IBM PC. It is used for simulation and optimization of beam dynamics and based on successive and consistent application of two methods: the momentum method of distribution function (RMS technique) and particle in cell method. The library has been used to simulate and optimize the transportation of tantalum ion beam from the laser ion source through the Low Energy Beam Transport line (LEBT) into the ionic RFQ linac at CERN
