AbstractAbstract
[en] Reactor-laser pumping process is studied theoretically. Problems of determining the value of U fission fragment energy input into the laser medium, contributed energy spatial distribution and pumping capacity time profile are solved. Calculational model of uranium nuclei fission fragment distribution, realized within the frames of the PRISMA program complex on the basis of the Monte Carlo method is described. The PRISMA program calculation results for active medium pumping capacity are presented with an account of delay process from the reactor

AbstractAbstract
[en] Results are presented on experiments on spherical irradiation of glass microspheres filled with DT gas. The experiments are carried out on the six-channel laser ''Progress'' installation, the flux density of the heating radiation being < or approx.5x1015 W/cm2. The effect of the resonance mechanism on the efficiency of laser energy absorption and transfer of the energy to the compressing envelope is investigated. The experimntal data are compared with the results of calculations performed by the ''Zarya'' and ''Osvetka'' programs and on the basis of a simple model of interaction between the laser radiation and envelope. It is shown that the pattern of target compression depends significantly on the degree of development of instabilities due to inhomogeneity of the target irradiation

AbstractAbstract
[en] The coefficient of limitation f of the electronic thermal conduction in a laser plasma upon spherical exposure of targets has been studied in experiments with the 6-beam ''Progress'' laser facility (λ=1.054 μm) in the range of heating radiation flux densities of q ∼ (0.5-5)x1015 W/cm2. In order to determine f the results of measurements of the energy absorbed by the target, the average rate of target compression and the yield of X-ray lines of multicharged Si ions were compared with the results of numerical calculations performed in the ''Zarya'' program over a wide range of F variations. It is shown that f falls with rise in q

AbstractAbstract
[en] The 'Progress' laser unit has been employed for irradiation of gas-filled glass targets at energy flux densities of (0.4-2)x1015 W/cm2. Phase plates were used to improve homogeneity of the target irradiation. An enhancement of the volumetric compression of the DT gas by a factor of 4-5 and a reduction of the fraction of fast particles generated by plasma have been recorded

AbstractAbstract
[en] In experimental at a high-power 6-channel laser device ''Progress'' the stability of compression of glass shell targets with Al layer on external surface filled with DT-gas with Ne addition is investigated. The images of laser plasma in X-ray lines of Al, Si, Ne multicharged ions and in continuous X-radiation spectrum are compared. The X-ray measurement data in total with the measurements of absorbed energy, neutron yieldare compared with the results of gasodynamic calculation according to the Larya program

AbstractAbstract
[en] The model describing asymmetrical compression of high-aspect-ratio laser-fusion shells under conditions of non-uniform illumination is proposed. Thin-shell approximation is used as a base. Motion equations of a thin shell are solved numerically by code ''SOM''. The asymmetry being brought during acceleration phase is characterized by asymmetry function introduced taking into account thermal conduction smoothing of energy deposition in corona, and is set as initial conditions. Analytic solution of small three-dimensional perturbations growth problem is derived. It gives a good estimation of compression losses even for large amplitude and for several modes superposition case. The analysis of experiments conducted on the SOKOL, OCTAL, OMEGA facilities is given. The model represents a good agreement with experimental data: degradation of DT-fuel compression and neutron yield falling can be explained by large scale asymmetry appearance due to target illumination non-uniformity

AbstractAbstract
[en] An interpretation is presented of the results of research into the gasdynamic parameters and the compression dynamics of gas-filled microspheres with R/ΔR = 30-300, obtained with the SOKOL facility at incident and absorbed laser energy flux densities q ∼ (0.1-4.0) · 1014 W/cm2 and qa ∼ (0.1-1.0) · 1014 W/cm2 and at specific energy inputs ε0 ∼ 0.003-0.3 J/ng. The dependences of the average flight velocity of the shell towards the center, of the average scatter rate of the laser plasma, of the mass flow rate, of the average ablation pressure, of the hydrodynamic efficiency, and of the mass coefficient on the indicated physical parameters are investigated. The results are used to reconcile and optimize the parameters of the laser + target system so as to increase the specific energy input. The heat-conduction confinement coefficient is obtained in greater detail by comparison of the experimental results with those of gasdynamic calculations

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results are generalized on investigations of the gasodynamic parameters of the compression dynamics for glass gas-filled microspheres with R/ΔR=30-300 measured with the ''Sokol'' installation. The flux densities of the incident and absorbed laser energy are q ∼ (0.1-4.0)x1014 W/cm2 and qn ∼ (0.1-1.0)x1014 W/cm2 and the specific energy contributions ε0 ∼ 0.03-0.3 j/ng. The dependences of the mean velocity of flight of the shell toward the center, the mean expansion velocity of the laser plasma, the flow rate of mass, mean ablation pressure, hydrodynamic efficiency and mass coefficient on the aforementioned physical parameters are investigated. The matching and optimization of the parameters of the laser-target system toward increasing the specific energy contribution are carried out on the basis of the results obtained. The value of the electron heat conduction restriction coefficient is determined in greater detail by comparing the experimental results with those of gasodynamic calculations. The results of the investigation are compared with those for theoretical models, results of gasodynamic calculations and with the data obtained with the ''Kalmar'', ''Delfin'', ''Vulkan'', ''Chroma-1'', ''Omega'' and ''Argus'' installations
