AbstractAbstract
[en] Experiment E735* searched for evidence of the transition to quark-gluon plasma in panti p collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV. Using data from a high statistics run in 1988-1989, results are presented on multiplicity distributions, hyperon and phi production, and Bose-Einstein correlations. Some data were also taken at lower collision energies and results will be compared to previous experiments. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The yields and average transverse momenta of pions, kaons, and antiprotons produced at the Fermilab bar pp collider at √s =300, 540, 1000, and 1800 GeV are presented and compared with data from the energies reached at the CERN collider. We also present data on the dependence of average transverse momentum left-angle pt right-angle and particle ratios as a function of charged particle density dNc/dη; data for particle densities as high as six times the average value, corresponding to a Bjorken energy density 6 GeV/fm3, are reported. These data are relevant to the search for quark-gluon phase of QCD

AbstractAbstract
[en] Experiment E735 collected data for ∼107 interactions at the C0 intersection of the Fermilab p bar p collider with √s =1.8 TeV. The Bose-Einstein correlations between pairs of identical pions were measured in a limited aperture spectrometer and used to estimate the size and lifetime of the source. The aperture shape limited the sensitivity primarily to the source dimension R along the incident p bar p direction. Both this dimension and the lifetime appear to depend strongly on pion multiplicity. Efforts were also made to obtain some information on the transverse source size, energy density, and the dependence of source size and strength on dipion momentum. Fits to the entire data sample yielded a value R=1.06±0.07 fm for the average source dimension and a value τ=0.74±0.06 fm for the average source lifetime with left-angle dNc/dη right-angle=14.4

[en] The production properties of lambdas (Λ0,bar Λ 0) and cascades (Ξ-,bar Ξ -) in the central region in bar pp collisions at √s =1.8 TeV at the Fermilab collider are reported. The transverse-momentum spectra of lambdas are measured as a function of multiplicity and the ratios of lambdas to protons (p,bar p) and to all charged particles are studied as a function of transverse momentum and multiplicity. Moreover the average transverse momentum of cascades and the ratio of cascades to lambdas are presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] We report a measurement of the inclusive production of low-energy photons from p bar p collisions at √s =1.8 TeV. A NaI calorimeter located near η=0 was used to measure the photon transverse momentum spectrum over the range 30≤pt≤5000 MeV/c. The data are compared to the photon production expected from known particle decays in an attempt to isolate a low-energy direct photon signal. We find no evidence for excess photons above those expected from hadron decays and place an upper limit of 16% (90% C.L.) on any excess direct photons in the pt range from 30 to 100 MeV/c

AbstractAbstract
[en] This study reports the first measurement of the azimuthal decorrelation between jets with pseudorapidity separation up to five units. The data were accumulated using the D0 detector during the 1992 endash 1993 collider run of the Fermilab Tevatron at √s=1.8 TeV. These results are compared to next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD predictions and to two leading-log approximations (LLA) where the leading-log terms are resummed to all orders in αS. The final state jets as predicted by NLO QCD show less azimuthal decorrelation than the data. The parton showering LLA Monte Carlo HERWIG describes the data well; an analytical LLA prediction based on Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov resummation shows more decorrelation than the data. copyright 1996 The American Physical Society

AbstractAbstract
[en] We present a search for events consistent with the production and decay of the squarks and gluinos of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) in the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p bar p collider. We examined data for events containing large missing transverse energy and three or more jets. We observed no excess of events above the expected yield from standard model processes. For a choice of MSSM parameter values, we set a lower limit at the 95% confidence level on the mass of the gluino of 144 GeV/c2 for all squark masses and a lower limit of 212 GeV/c2 for equal squark and gluino masses

AbstractAbstract
[en] We report on a search for second generation scalar leptoquarks with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron ppbar collider at √s=1.8TeV. This search is based on 12.7pb-1 of data. Second generation leptoquarks are assumed to be produced in pairs and to decay into a muon and quark with branching ratio β or into a neutrino and quark with branching ratio 1-β. We obtain cross section times branching ratio limits as a function of leptoquark mass and set lower limits on the leptoquark mass at the 95% confidence level. copyright 1995 The American Physical Society

Leptoquarks are assumed to be produced in pairs and to decay into an electron + quark with branching ratio β. No leptoquark candidates were found. We obtain cross section times branching ratio limits as a function of leptoquark mass. For pair production of scalar leptoquarks, we set a leptoquark mass limit of 133 GeV for β=1 and 120 GeV for β=0.5 at 95% confidence level
