AbstractAbstract
[en] The K+K0π-state has been produced by π-,K- and /bar char/p beams at beam momenta of about 8 GeV/c. The π- and /bar char/p beam data show peaks at 1285 and 1420 MeV identified as the D(12185) and E/iota(1420). The K- beam data does not show any K+K0π- peaks. A partial wave analysis of the π- beam data show evidence of J/sup PG/ = 1++ resonance at 1285 MeV together with a small 0-+ peak. The 1420 MeV peak is mainly a 0/sup - +/resonance with a small amount of 1++. There is an indication of a 1+- state at 1420 MeV. Also observed is a peak at a mass of 1512 MeV. 6 refs., 7 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] A new method has been developed in order to calculate the total cross section for particle-atom collisions. For hydrogen we have found the explicit expressions of the first three terms of the cross section for large incident momentum. The calculation is performed in momentum space. The propagator of the scattering amplitude is expanded in powers of the atomic energy levels, and use is made of the optical theorem. The polarization and distortion effects have been taken into account by calculating the contributions of the scattering amplitude up to the fourth order. The latter was evaluated using the Glauber amplitude. Thus the explicit dependence of the cross section on Z2, Z3, and Z4, where Ze is the charge of the particle, has been obtained. An estimate of the precision of our result is given. The total elastic cross section has also been calculated

AbstractAbstract
[en] The ''Generalized Riemann Problem'' (GRP) method is applied to 1-D compressible flows with material interfaces and variable cross section. The resulting scheme is second-order and used a ''mixed-type'' grid, where cell boundaries can be either Lagrangian or Eulerian. In fact, using the analytic resolution of discontinuities at cell boundaries, provided by the GRP solution, one can extend the scheme presented here to include any adaptive mesh

AbstractAbstract
[en] We have performed a partial-wave analysis of the K+K/sub S/0π- system produced in the reaction π-p→K+K-bar0π-n at 8 GeV/c. We present the results of the analysis of 30 740 events in the mass range 1.24--1.60 GeV/c2, with 0.0≤-t<1.0 GeV2/c2. In the 1.28-GeV/c2 mass region, we see evidence for a J/sup P//sup G/ = 0/sup -+/ resonance in addition to the resonant 1/sup ++/ wave. We observe a 0/sup -+/ resonance and possibly a small 1/sup ++/ resonance in the 1.42-GeV/c2 region. We also observe a 1/sup ++/ state near 1.5 GeV/c2

AbstractAbstract
[en] Data from an experiment on π-p→K0sub(S)K0sub(S)n are used to compare the Kanti K D-wave at the f'(1516) mass with that at the f(1270) mass. The ratio yields an upper limit for f' production by ππ scattering followed by decay into Kanti K. This limit can be expressed by GAMMA(f'→ππ)/GAMMAf'→ all) < approximately 1% or GAMMA(f'→ππ)/GAMMA)f→ππ) <= 1/400; this indicates a suppression of the two-pion decay of the f', stronger than the well-known suppression of the phi(1019)→rhoπ decay. AbstractAbstract
[en] A singularities tracking version of the GRP scheme for the integration of the Euler equations for compressible duct flow is presented. Flow singularities corresponding to contact (material), shock, or gradient discontinuities are represented by special grid points that move through the fixed grid at the appropriate speed of propagation. The primary modification to the Eulerian GRP scheme is the evaluation of fluxes at singular points in a unified grid containing the union of regular Euler grid points and singular moving points. Interactions between singular points (shock-shock or shock-contact interactions) are treated accurately by solving the appropriate generalized Riemann problem. The new GRP/ST scheme combines some merits of computation by characteristics, with a robustness approaching that of a finite difference conservation laws scheme. Shock wave phenomena illustrating the capabilities of the tracking method are presented, demonstrating improved resolution and accuracy at a given grid
