AbstractAbstract
[en] Recent results on various aspects of hadronic final states in deep inelastic muonnucleon scattering as obtained by the European Muon Collaboration (EMC) are presented and compared with QCD: the scaled energy distributions of charged hadrons, the average psub(T)2 of neutral mesons and the azimuthal dependence of charged hadrons. The size of the primordial transverse momentum is being discussed in connection with the inclusion of soft gluons. Preliminary results for hadron production on nuclei are given. Finally the new experiment (NA9) of the EMC is briefly described. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Deep inelastic scattering of charged letpons on nucleons has lead to the quark parton picture of nucleons. With the improved accuracy of measurements and increased scale of Q2'' in the scattering experiments, violation of scaling was found to give an important basis for quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Charged lepton nucleon scattering strongly tests QCD. The muon beam makes it possible to combine high accuracy with a large scale of energy and momentum transfer. It also allows particle production via detected hadrons or additional muons to be compared with theory

AbstractAbstract
[en] All existing data on virtual γp total cross sections in the resonance region are fitted in the absolute value of the three momentum transfers independently for small bins of W in the range 1.22 <= W <= 1.99 GeV. The data are divided into three ranges of the polarization epsilon: epsilon >= 0.9, 0.9 > epsilon > 0.6, epsilon <= 0.6. Taking into account statistical and possible systematic errors, a comparison of the first for different ranges of epsilon indicates that longitudinal contributions to the cross sections in the resonance region are in general small. (orig.)
