AbstractAbstract
[en] A new type of gas scintillating detector is proposed in two versions: a low pressure xenon chamber (1 atm) for the detection of low-energy photons (<50 keV) and a high pressure xenon chamber (up to 10 atm) for X- or γ-rays up to 200 keV. They have been tested in scintigraphy imaging, either with radioisotopes or fluorescence X-rays from stable tracers. Their performances in energy resolution are: 5.4% at 30 keV with the low pressure chamber and 3% at 140 keV with the high pressure chamber. Experimental results are shown and discussed in relation to a variety of potential biomedical applications. (author)
