AbstractAbstract
[en] A symposium on magnetic resonance in nuclear medicine was held from 23rd to 27th January, 1985 in Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Discussed were suitable methods, the use of contrast media, the evaluation of results, the application of nuclear magnetic resonance in examining various body organs, and the latest apparatus. NMR achievements in medicine were compared to those by other diagnostic methods. (M.D.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The principle is described of computerized tomography, the methods of image reconstruction and evaluation image, the equipment of a CT workplace and the problems of the administration of contrast media. Part two is highly detailed and includes many illustrations to describe the technique of examination, the normal image and the pathological images of a wide range of diseases and lesions of the following body organs: the brain, the orbitals, the face and the parapharyngeal area, the neck, the throat, the heart and veins of the mediastinum, the lungs and the mediastinum, the pleura, the liver and the biliary system, the spleen, pancreas and the abdomen, the kidneys, the retroperitoneum, the pelvic organs, the spine, the spinal cord, and the extremities. Briefly discussed is targeted puncture biopsy and radiotherapy planning. (M.D.). 503 figs., 5 tabs., 148 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Altogether 45 patients with Hodgkin's disease were examined with the help of lymphography (LG), computerized tomography (CT) and ultrasonography (USG). The LG, CT and USG results obtained in 20 patients were compared with the histological findings. The retroperitoneal lymph nodes contrasted in LG, when involved in a pathological process, were detected with approximately the same accuracy in CT and USG. The abdomina lymph nodes undiscernible on lymphograms, were visualized in CT and USG, the sensitivity of USG was higher than that of CT. An optimum scheme for examination of patients with Hodgkin's disease with USG as the chief method was proposed. CT and LG are conducted depending on USG results and a clinical picture of disease

AbstractAbstract
[en] The main indications for lymphography by oncological patients are primary or secondary lymph node tumours. CT also became very useful in the cases. In this study the results of lymphography and computed tomography were compared in 100 patients with lymph node tumours. An absolute concurrence of both methods was found in only one half of the material. In 18% lymphography was clearly positive and CT negative. In 6% CT was positive while lymphography was negative. In 25% CT yielded important extra useful information. Lymphography and CT complement each other. Both methods are about equal in terms of sensitivity and reliability. CT is the basic method to be performed invariably prior to lymphography. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The experience is presented with the use of computed tomography in the diagnosis of kidney diseases. Indications for examinations, the examination technique and the results of 4590 examinations of patients are presented. The native image, excretory urography, isotope nephrography and sonography remain the most important methods of examining the kidney. Computed tomography has made possible a relatively safe diagnosis of tumors, cysts, abscesses, perirenal hematomas, advanced pyelonephritis and certain anomalies. Computed tomography is a noninvasive examination method with a high degree of diagnostic accuracy and has also been fully proven in radiotherapy. (author)

[en] Computerized tomography provides valuable information for differentiating some cases of extremity edemas of acute and chronic venostatic origin and lymphedema - primary and secondary, in malignant processes. Graphic representation of individual kinds of changes and observed densities in 33 patients are presented. (author). 9 figs., 1 tab., 6 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The individual diagnostic techniques for lymphedema were tested and assessed, such as native skiagraphy, native xeroradiography, contrast stain and native xeroradiography in combination, phlebography, radioisotope lymphography, and direct contact lymphography using water and oil contrast stains. Contrast stain lymphography and native xeroradiography in combination were found to be the most advantageous and least invasive examination technique. Direct oil stain radiolymphography is indicated in patients for whom target radiotherapy or lymphedema surgery is considered. (author)
