AbstractAbstract
[en] The kinetics of alkaline decomposition of tungsten heterpolyacids of tetra- and hexavalent tellurium was investigated. It is shown that the decomposition of the heteropolyanion (HPA) in the presence of a considerable alkali excess proceeds in two stages: the first fast stage is characterized by the washing of the tungsten out of the HPA sphere, and the second, slow stage is associated with the destruction of the central cell of the HPA. The rate constants of alkaline decomposition of heteropolyacids were calculated and found to be of the order of 10-4. It is concluded that the decomposition (formation) of isopolyacid and heteropolyacids is identical
