AbstractAbstract
[en] Results of optimization calculations of the shim magnetic field and parameters are presented in order to select shims for smoothing a cynchrocyclotron magnetic field distorted as a result of introducing the particle extraction magnetic channel into the magnet gap. Some particular cases are considered: shims in the form of a long thin rod, planar infinite shims, planar finite shims and cylindrical shims. The optimal parameters of the shims such as: thickness, position, vertical gaps in the shims which provide correction of the magnetic field are calculated

AbstractAbstract
[en] Considerations for particle drift in a toroidal magnetic thermonuclear reactor are outlined. Particle drift in inhomogeneous magnetic and electric fields is considered. Heat conductivity in a tore at drift stabilization by a magnetic field of longitudinal current is estimated. Conclusions on an insufficient drift compensation by weak longitudinal current are made. An assessment is given which points to the necessity of generating a field of stabilized current of the order of the main field for thermonuclear reaction realization. Besides, it is necessary to generate additional fields being coupled with the chamber walls which would confine plasma as a whole in the tore

AbstractAbstract
[en] The main physical principles and preliminary calculations of the method for thermonuclear reaction ionititn in a straight cylinder with a longitudinal magnetic field locked at the side ends by ''magnetic mirrors'' are given. A method for a discharge initiation in a high vacuum and for plasma heating by means of a ''magnetic plunger'' is considered. Nuclear energy direct conversion into electric one is considered

Reports of 2. all-union conference on the application of charged particles accelerators in national economy1976
Reports of 2. all-union conference on the application of charged particles accelerators in national economy1976
AbstractAbstract
[en] Accelerators of charged particles are described. Intended for national economy these have been designed in the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. As to the accelerated beam characteristics the accelerators may be divided into the following categories: electron accelerators with an average beam power of several tens of kilowatts and energy ranging from 0.5 up to 2 , electron accelerators with an average beam power of about 1.000 kW and 0.5 MeV energy, pulse electron accelerators with an impulse power up to 15 MW and energy varying from 0.5 up to 2 MeV, heavy-current nanosecond electron accelerators with a cold cathode for producing conspicuous bursts of X-radiation with a gamma quantum energy of up to 3 MeV, proton-ion synchrotrons for 200 MeV energy and accumulating electron rings for energy exceeding 1 GeV. Principal characteristics of the accelerators are given

AbstractAbstract
[en] Relationship between the energy of particles in colliding beam facilities and that in fixed target accelerators at equal colliding energies is given. Construction of colliding beam facilities is shown to be promising. The VEPP-2 electron-positron storage ring is described and results of the first start-up experiments on the VEPP-2 are presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] A new method of beam extraction from a phasotron and its focusing is suggested. The beam extractor comprises electromagnetic channel, resonance deflector for achieving the beam step-size in the electromagnetic channel and electrostatic ion channel for focusing. The resonance deflector differs from the pulse one by its low cost. The basic features of devices are described and some numerical estimations are presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] A method is described and the results are presented of numerical estimations of particle oscillation damping in proton-antiproton storage rings by meanS of an electron beam transported along an ion beam at the same velocity. Due to Coulomb collisions the ion beam cooling on electrons takes place. Phase and betatron oscillation damping proceeds without energy losses and under certain conditions the electron beam can accelerate protons. Numerical estimations of damping time are given

AbstractAbstract
[en] Results of experiments on plasma confinement, thermal insulation and heating in devices with a dense plasma are described. Principles of thermonuclear reactor construction are outlined. The reactor is a rigid conducting vessel about 10 m long and approximately 10 cm in inner diameter. The magnetic field average intensity is 105 Gs, mirror ratio is 3. About 10 mirror devices are located on each side. Approximately 1018 cm-3 dense plasma is produced in the central part of the device by a relativistic electron beam injected at one of the sides. Thermal energy of plasma is 108 J. Plasma lifetime (104 s) is sufficient for the formation of an energy positive output

AbstractAbstract
[en] An analytical solution is considered of an equation for the reactor power change with time in systems with small values (K-1), where K is equal to a multiplication factor. Calculation is carried out for the case when the K excess over the stationary level acquires very high and negative values. Practically the case takes place when lowering the moderating rods during more than 0.5 s
