[en] DAΦNE is the new e+e- storage ring (φ-factory) recently approved to be built at the Frascati Laboratories. The machine should start operation in 1995/96 with a final luminosity goal of 1033 cm-2 sec-1. This will allow a measurement of R(ε'/ε) with an absolute precision of 1-2 10-4. Moreover a φ-factory offers the unique feature of tagged KS allowing to extend the study of CP (and CPT) violation to the yet unexplored sector of semileptonic and 3π decays of KS. The detector requirements for CP physics studies and the proposed Kloe detector are described. (orig.)

[en] This paper illustrates the application of Discriminant Analysis to the separation between π's and μ's through the energy measurement and tracking capability of a hadron calorimeter followed by a system of chambers. For data taken in a test run with π and μ beams of 5-10-20 GeV, Discriminant Analysis provides an identification level of about 99.5%, very close to the physical limit corresponding to sail-through pions. The extension of the method to the case of the whole ALEPH detector and Z0 events is also discussed, with the aid of a Monte Carlo program. (orig.)

[en] Recent results obtained at LEP by the ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL collaborations on B-lifetime, BB-bar mixing, D* fragmentation function and on the inclusive decay Z0 → J/Ψ+X, are presented. [en] The KLOE experiment at the DAΦNE φ-factory of the Frascati Laboratories aims to measure the R(ε'/ε) parameter of CP violation in KL decay to an absolute precision of ∝10-4. By measuring the interference in K0K0 decay times the experiment may also determine other relevant quantities as Δφ = φ+- - φ00, Δm, τL, τS and test CPT conservation. The KLOE apparatus and its expected performances are described. (orig.)

[en] A narrow resonance in e+e- annihilation around 1.5 GeV, predicted by different models, was searched but not found. An upper limit for the energy integrated resonant cross section has been set. (author)
