AbstractAbstract
[en] Forty-seven serologically and/or biologically proved episodes of Legionnaires' disease (LD) were observed in 46 patients. There were two groups: one of 29 immnucompromised (IC) patients with 29 episodes of LD, the second of 18 healthy patients (HP). Radiological study showed, in the two groups, one or several alveolar opacities of the lung, often of low density (n = 19), without systematization (n = 25), and associated with pleural effusion (n = 18). Two differences were noted. In the IC group the opacities were more often multiple and bilateral (14 of 29 against five of 18); more important, while cavitation was never observed in HP, it was observed ten times in IC, with, after a few days, a ringlike aspect in three cases. This last finding imposes the addition of LD as a cause of excavated opacity of the lung in IC patients

AbstractAbstract
[en] A prospective study in 60 consecutive patients evaluated gain in quality of image using ECG servo-assistance during pulmonary digital substraction angiography (PDSA). Two groups of 30 comparable patients were randomly allocated to examination with ECG servo-assistance or three images per second technique. Criteria for assessment of quality of image were defined and used to compare results. No significant difference were noted and ECG servo-assistance failed to improve images during PDSA

AbstractAbstract
[en] The objective of this study was to determine the utility of CT scan findings for the diagnosis of chest wall tuberculosis, excluding the spine. We reviewed 15 patients (13 Africans and 2 Indians) with chest wall tuberculosis, retrospectively. The radiologic examination consisted of a plain X-ray and a CT scan of the chest for each patient. The site of disease was the rib in 13 patients or the body of the sternum in 2 patients. One rib was involved in 11 patients, 2 contiguous ribs (one site) in 2 patients, and bilateral disease (two sites) was observed in the remaining patient. The 14 rib sites involved the posterior arc or costovertebral joint in 11 cases, the anterior arc in 2 cases, and the anterior and middle arc in 1 case. The CT scan findings were an abscess (n = 14) or a soft tissue mass (n = 2), osteolytic lesions (n = 13), periosteal reaction (n = 10), and sequestrum (n = 14). Bone sclerosis was observed only in 3 cases of rib involvement. The association of a soft tissue abscess, an osteolytic lesion, and sequestrum, especially in immigrants to France, suggests chest wall tuberculosis on CT scan. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Pericardial lipoma is a benign mediastinal tumours. Its location into the pericardial space is well demonstrated by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computerized tomography (CT) if pericardium is visible; otherwise, diagnosis is evoked on the displacement or compression of cardiac cavities.
